]]> There are reports being circulated in town that UPDF budgeted 2.5 billion shillings to organise the 31st Tarehe Sita week. The week is marked annually in remembrance of the first armed attack when Yoweri Museveni and his NRA rebels launched a guerrilla war on February 6, 1981. The climax of the week is always February 6th. This year’s cerebrations will climax in Kasese district.

We are told by a source in UPDF that 2.5 billion shillings would be used on improving the health of Ugandans in Kasese and the nearby districts, to transport soldiers to attend the function, make telephone calls, and organise a cocktail for the invited guests.

The money will also be used to conduct HIV-testing, counseling on HIV, run free male circumcision, immunization, fumigation of health centres in Kasese region, de-worming Ugandans to host district and show HIV films to people in Kasese.
