Millions of people in the East African Countries of Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania are experiencing internet service interruptions and businesses relying on internet services are about to collapse. Such businesses include computer service centres, computer training centres, website designers and internet cafes.

The owners of businesses relying on internet for survival have written memos to their service providers such as MTN, Airetel, Orange Telecom, Uganda telecom, Vodacom and Warid telecom for an explanation.

In the Republic of Uganda, Orange telecom has sent messages to her customers reading that “Dear valued customers; we are experiencing a service interruption on our back up link to Kenya which has affected your internet experience. We have been told that MTN, Warid, UTL and Airtel have written similar messages to their customers.

Like Tanzania relocated its capital city from Dares Salaam to Dodoma, the republic of Uganda is also planning to relocate its capital city from Kampala to Nakasongola.

Sources in government have told us that the ministers behind the idea of relocating the capital city to Nakasongola have already sold the idea to president Museveni who also seems to be supportive of the idea.

We are told some of the ministers behind the idea of relocating the capital city are Justice Minister Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire and state minister for transport Stephen Cheborot.

There are also proposals that the capital should be relocated to Mbarara as the late former president of Uganda Milton Obote had planned in the past. The ministers behind the proposal argue that relocating the capital city will decongest Kampala.

The republic of Uganda has marked the pro bono day. Because of the national cerebrations, the court cases that were meant to be heard today were suspended as the Acting Chief Registrar, Henry Adonyo explains.

The members of the legal fraternity in partnership with the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and the Democratic Governance Facility were part of the people who marked the pro bono day. Henry Adonyo reminded the magistrates, lawyers and judges to ensure that marginalized persons access justice.

Pro bono day is cerebrated voluntarily and without payment to judges and lawyers. On this day the members of legal fraternity mix up with people who are unable to enjoy heir rights by virtue of their circumstances, gender, age, location and voicelessness.

After the down fall of the greatest son of Africa and Libyan leader, Col. Muammar Gadaffi, the republic of Uganda now is walking in his former foot steps with a plan to establish the United States of Africa (USA), Walakira Nyanzi reports.

We are told that Uganda wants to use the eight member states of the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development to establish the United States of Africa. IGAD is meeting in Kampala at Speke Resort Hotel at a place called Munyonyo.

The member states of IGAD are Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Kenya, Sudan, Eritrea, South Sudan and Uganda. IGAD is one of the African economic blocks which are working with other economic blocks in Africa to ensure that they form a single block for the African region by 2028 in accordance with the 1991 Abuja Treaty.

A source told us that Uganda and other members of IGAD want to use the African block was its fully established into the United States of Africa with headquarters in Kampala, East Africa. Currently IGAD is discussing the gradual removal of tariff and non-tariff barriers affecting Africans and the benefits of a free trade area.

It seems president Museveni security is growing from big to big all the time. Incapable sources at statehouse tell us that the president is now using two euro planes whenever he goes to areas like northern Uganda where his support on ground is questionable.

We hear that the president is using his usual presidential chopper and another small one we also hear it was donated to him by the former Libyan leader, Col. Muammar Gadaffi.

The plane was reportedly given to president Museveni to help him sweep the polls. The civilian chopper Russian made moves ahead of the presidential chopper, clearing the way before the presidential chopper lands on ground.  Last in northern Uganda when Museveni visited the area, the Russian made chopper would hover the sky hours before the presidential chopper landed.

Southern Sudan has become the sixth member of the East African Community after Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda.

Its application to enter into the bloc was accepted last month according to president Museveni. The new African country was allowed into the EAC because of the factor of proximity.

The EAC act provides that any country to join EAC block must be bordering with a member country-Southern Sudan boarders with the Republic of Uganda and Kenya .

Museveni has today told his cabinet that many countries are struggling to join the EAC block because of its growing influence on the continent but the hindering factor is the clause of geographical proximity.
