George Abege has undergone an operation on a fractured collar bone in his right shoulder.

The forward sustained the injury during Victoria university sports club’s goalless draw with Proline last Friday at Namboole Stadium.

Abege was assessed by the club’s medical team and a decision to go under the knife was made for the 21-year-old.

The operation was a success and the forward revealed that he was hoping to be back in action in a few weeks.

An injury of this nature requires a three-month rehabilitation period.

Abege now looks certain to miss all the remaining first round matches against the likes of Simba, Vipers, Kira Young, Water, Bidco and Aurum Roses.

Ugandan kick-boxer Ronald Mugula has defeated Hungarian Andras Nagy in the second round of their Mauy Thai super welterweight world title fight at Kyadondo rugby ground.

Nagy seemed to be set for another victory over Ugandan opposition when he knocked Mugula down in the first round.

Mugula and Naggy before the fight

But the Uganda came strongly in the second round and injected Nagy with punches and kicks that made the Hungarian bleed and fail to recover after he fell to the ground.

Motor mouthed Moses Golola who lost to Andras Nagy earlier this year was the happiest man on the evening jubilating like he had won a lottery.

Mugula improved on his record to 43 wins in his 59 fights to make many Ugandans happy for the sporting victory. The German based Ugandan had earlier predicted he would defeat Nagy in the second round and many Ugandans were anxious not to have another loss after Golola lost having promised to easily defeat the not so talkative Hungarian.

“He is a good fighter but I have prepared myself. He will go down in the second round,” Mugula assured the nation shortly before his weigh-in on Thursday.

Mugula delivered with his 23rd knockout that gave him the international title.  Some spectators were however disappointed that Nagy was defeated so easily as they had paid to watch what many thought was a long fight between two quality contenders.

Ugandans in the northern Uganda are to hold a round table meeting and also conduct victory party for some of the people who contested on opposition party ticket and won the polls.

The round table meeting will take place on Thursday this week in Nwoya district at a place called Lukutu.

The round table meeting will kick off in morning hours and the cerebrations will follow immediately from 2:00pm at Koch Amar trading centre also in Nwoya district.

The organisers of the two events have invited the president General of DP, Norbert Mao among other opposition leaders to attend the round table meeting. Why? This is because Hon. Mao comes from Northern Uganda.
