Abdallah Kitatta the leader of Boda-Boda 2010

Rubaga south Member of Parliament Kato Lubwama, has defended Boda Boda 2010 group led by , the National Resistance Movement NRM party chairperson in Rubaga division which is being accused of brutal acts on Ugandans with protection from the Uganda Police Force.

Lubwama said, he has never received any complaint from the people he represents in Rubaga constituency of having been beaten up by the members of Bodaboda 2010. He stated that the conflict is between Boda boda groups over their business operations.

At the end of November Bunya East MP Waira Kyewalabye moved parliament to resolved and constitute a select committee to investigate activities of Boda-Boda on grounds that they are involved in criminal and other unlawful activities.

In october, a gang from this group, attacked the bus belonging to Winterland primary school, Kyebando, beat up 27 pupils, two teachers and ten security guards, including plain clothes police personnel accompanying them.

The children dressed in red, black and yellow national colours were, ironically, going to perform at celebrations marking the annual police week held at Nkumba University.

The bus was stopped and the pupils asked to change from red to any other colour so that they are not mistaken for opposition politicians who have adopted the red colour as a symbol of their fight against lifting of presidential age limits.
