Accept all the things you know you can not change in your life or surrounding. But if you can and can change them do it.

Let the people who are holding you down go out of your life. As you read this news piece, you already know who these people are holding you down.

Blast your favourite upbeat song and rehearsal it at the top of your voice, lungs, and mind and understanding.

Some people feel happy when they go for run. Run until you feel good and perhaps sexy. Long run will feel you tired and the problems in your life will look less vital.

Discuss with people you love, spending time with them will make you better. Smile at people, including strangers, it will make both of you smile. Listen to love songs. Trust yourself and watch your favourite movies.

We are told that hundreds of refugees are flocking into Uganda from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) following heavy fighting there since last Friday. Sources in DRC also tell us that some DRC soldiers threw their guns to the rebels and ran away for their dear lives.

One of the groups giving Joseph Kabila’s soldiers sleepless nights is called the Mai Mai rebels. The Mai Mai fighters attacked the Congolese towns of Lubiriha and Kasindi last Thursday night and the fighting has gone on till now.

Reports from DRC indicate that the Mai Mai rebels who attacked the border towns of Lubiriha and Kasindi have a bigger supporter in eastern DR Congo.

President Museveni’s government this week announced that it had approved 25 new districts in Uganda. The NRM government of president Museveni captured power through an armed struggle when Uganda had only 25 districts, 26 years later the country now has 137 districts.

However it is expensive to support a district. It requires a district council councilors, district chairperson and deputy, a resident district commissioner (RDC), chief administrative officer and his assistants, district planner, district education officer, district environment officer, district agricultural officer, NAADS coordinator, secretaries, DPC, CIDs, district service commission, district land board, district health officer, sub county chiefs and so many other technical staff members all drawing hefty salaries and allowances.

Many of the new districts Museveni’s government create have few sources of income where some of the districts created cannot pay their public servants, and must rely on their mother districts for support.

President Museveni’s government claim that it creates new districts to improve service delivery but in places where most of these new districts have been created the said service deliveries have not been realized.

Family has been reportedly ambushing people, robs of their properties, kills them and then secretly buries them in banana plantations. The bodies have been exhumed by the Police today, walakira Nyanzi reports.

The discovery of the bodies shocked people. The bodies were found in a banana plantation owned by a medical assistant, Wilson Karaira, a resident of Kajara cell in Kanungu district. Kanungu is the place where a man called Joseph Kibwetere burnt live over 1000 people in 2000.

The police have arrested Karaira’s wife, Gorret Kabaza, and her two sons Philip Asiimwe and Francis Monday in connection with the robberies and murders. Other suspects are on the run.

Eye witnesses told the media that some of the bodies exhumed had been stripped naked and their genitals chopped off. Traditionalists tell the media that it seems the people behind the murder chopped off the genitors and put them in shrines to stop the spirits from attacking them.

The police say that the owners of the land to disguise the graves planted banana plantations on them. To a non member of the family, the graves were hard to be seen.

The bodies discovered were decomposed and could not easily be identified. The police have told the media that the members of this family according to preliminary investigations would ambush bicycle riders, loaded businessmen and women, motorcycle riders and sometimes they would invite rich people in their homes, murder them and take the money they might have moved with.

Many people are baffled howKampalacity business mogul Hassan Basajjabalaba fights with city vendors over the management of markets such as St. Balikudembe, Nakasero and Shauriyaako markets.  We have heard million of Ugandans allege that truly Basajjabalaba is interested in taking over the daily administration of city markets.

We bet. Basajjabalaba no longer has interests in running the city markets. He can even run mad if the vendors, or Kampala Capital City Authority or the government ofUgandapardons him to run any of the markets inUganda.

We have been told by the circles in government who know and do businesses with Hassan Basajjabalaba that the business tycoon applies for tenders to run the city markets. He coughs money to all people concerned including councilors and political heads to ensure that the tender to run the markets is given to him or any of his companies.

Basajjabalaba is very aware that the vendors are going to cough fire and he sometimes reportedly sponsors some of them to resist his take over of the market. As usual the government or the president has to come in to save the arrived traders.  For example, when the president rules that the market should be given back to the traders to run it, Basajjabalaba runs to court to sue government over the loss.  He goes there when he is aware that he has to win the case. He might have used one or two billionUgandashillings to acquire the lease to run a certain market. But when he files for compensation he demands over 140 million shillings. He colludes with the government officials concerned to ease the payments.

So when you hear that the MPs want the two ministers Syda Bbumba (Gender) and Khiddu Makubuya (general duties) sacked for paying Basajjabalaba whooping 156 billion shillings as compensation for the loss of city markets, don’t rise eye borrows. They are making cash.

There is a grand programme by the ministry of health to evaluate health centres and clinics run by the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces across the country with the purpose of uplifting them to hospital status.

The Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Aronda Nyakairima has told journalists that health centres run by the army will be lifted to hospital status because they offer services to both civilians and soldiers.

He says that donors, development partners, Members of Parliament (MPs) and all stakeholders who have visited health centres run by the UPDF are ‘very pleased.’

Aronda says that UPDF health centres are public because civilians access health services from there. He says that health centres run by the UPDF have serviced millions of Ugandans, Rwandase, Congolese, Burundians, Tanzanians, Kenyans and Somalis among others.

Struggling DP politician Moses Kasibante is seriously broke and he doesn’t have money to rent a house or room now. We hear that all the money he had was spent in the February 2011 parliamentary elections and on the court battles he has been battling with MP Singh Katongole.

We are also told that Kasibante is currently staying at the home of Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago in Lubaga. When he participated in the parliamentary elections, Kasibante reportedly sold his land in Butambala to run his campaigns. And when the campaigns were over, Kasibante remained too broke and he had to sell much of his household property to get money to run court battles.

Kasibante is currently utilizing all avenues to survive but with little success so far. The good news however is that the High Court recently instated him as MP. Lets pray that when he finally enters the house life would change.

Flagging off MTN Marathon at MTN Arena Lugogo

Residents of Wiila Sub County in the eastern district of Amuria are arriving in Kampala to take part in the ninth edition of the Annual MTN Kampala Marathon, slated for Sunday November 27, 2011, setting off from the Kololo Airstrip.

The exercise under the theme  ‘What’s Your Reason To Run?’ is expected to attract over 20,000 people who will raise  up to 230 million shillings.

MTN says the money will be handed over to water Aid to execute water projects around the country, particularly in Amuria  where vulnerable people have no access to clean and safe drinking water.

Area mp who is also state minister in charge of relief and disaster preparedness Musa Echweru says the project will help keep children in school as many of them have been missing class because they had to fetch water for their parents.
