The motor mouthedUgandaconstitutional and Justice Minister, Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire has threatened to sue Kenya Ports Revenue Authority for destroying his sugar worth millions of shillings.

The sugar was destroyed this week at the Customs warehouse inMombasa, because of its reported poor quality state. The value of sugar the Kenya Ports Revenue Authority destroyed was worth over 100 millionUgandashillings.

Otafiire says that he is to sue Kenya Ports Revenue Authority because to ban his sugar it acted in contempt of court. The sugar Kenya Ports Revenue Authority destroyed was imported in 2007 by Semliki Mineral Resources Limited and it was shipped fromBrazil. By the time the sugar bags were opened and destroyed it was mixed with sand and soil.

The sugar was destroyed under the watchful eye of the officials of the police inKenya, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), National Environment Management Authority (Nema)-Kenyaand Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).
