Many epileptics secretly suffer sexual problems but it is said that they fear to discuss them in public. Some of these problems in some cases are triggered by epilepsy medication while others are a result of general conditions associated epilepsy.

Dr. Ddumba Edward, Senior consultant neurologist, Nsambya Hospital

in Kampala says that many epileptics have big sexual problems that naturally interfere with their intimacy. The doctor says that many epileptics can not sustain an erection for long, therefore having their partners sexually starved.

He says that some epileptics lose interest in the sex. This, plus erectile dysfunction issues affect their self-esteem as adults. Some of the people suffering from epilepsy try to play sex with housemaids or houseboys to prove their strength, although this doesn’t help them much.

The epileptics suffer from stigma and many of them lack self-confidence and this affects their sexual performance. Doctors also tell us that the anti-epileptic drugs also cause sedation, which affects their sexual performance.

But many people including Ugandans secretly use the drug. So today we have decided to bring to you the negative effects of methamphetamine hydrochloride on human beings, Walakira Nyanzi writes.

Doctors say that methamphetamine causes anorexia, hyperthermia, diaphoresis, restlessness, dry mouth, headache, hypertension, diarrhea, constipation, blurred vision and dizziness.

It also causes twitching, insomnia, euphoria, anxiety, alertness, concentration, increased libido, increased energy, increased self-esteem, self-confidence.

Other effects of methamphetamine are sociability, irritability, aggressiveness, psychosomatic disorders, delusions of grandiosity, hallucinations, excessive feelings of power and invincibility, paranoia, fatigue, depression and increased appetite.

Methamphetamine also has long term effects such as heart disease, amphetamine psychosis, anxiety and to some human beings the drug makes them so violent.

Mpuga told journalist at parliament that Matsiko was the minister of  information and national guidance a time when many UBC properties like land  and equipments  got lost. The Prime minister who had come with very brief written responses such as yes, No, I don’t know, you go and ask them, to the questions put before him, caused fury from some members of the committee, which forced the committee to ask him to take a 15minute break as they sorted themselves out.

Mbabazi says there was no merit in the statements of people who say he is corrupt because he sold his property to a willing buyer.

He says whoever calls him corrupt because of the Temangalo land transaction is an idiot.
