When a snake bites someone, the possible first aids are many. In Buganda (Uganda), people chew tobacco and spit the nicotine at the site of the snake bite.

Some people risky their lives by sucking out the poison. But Dr. Florence Tusuubira of Namasuba health center on Entebbe road says this only works if the person sucking doesn’t have a wound in his/her mouth.

Tusuubira says that if someone speeds up sucking out the poison the affected person’s life may be saved. Also some people wash the affected site with paraffin. Black stones or snake-stones are also used in Africa as first aid for snake bites.

But the official drugs for snake bites include Penta anti-venom. Where it is applicable, when the snake bites you, kill it and go with it in the hospital as this helps the medical workers to understand the type of venom the snake has injected in your body.

Thousands of people in Africa annually die as a result of snake bites. But when the snake bites, you need to keep calm and stop movements.

Keeping the affected part of the body below heart level sometimes reduces on the high flow of venom to the heart. Medical experts in Kampala told this reporter that putting on rings, anklets and bracelets may make the site the snake has bitten to swell.

Also note that most snakes in Africa are poisonous. When a poisonous snake bites someone, that person’s temperature, blood pressure, pulse of the heart and the breathing rate begins to reduce meaning that the person is about to die. When the snake bites someone, rush him or her to the nearest health centre as soon as possible.

According to the latest research at anEnglishUniversity, it doesn’t matter in what order the letters in a word are, the only important thing is that the first and last letter is at the right place.
The reset of names can be a total mess and you can still read it without much problem. This is because we do not read every letter by it self but the word as a whole.
This is the same with love. When you truly love someone you won’t mind his or her mistakes, but you understand him/her and move on.
Don’t forget, you were able to read this just because you overlooked the mistakes, if truly you love someone, you won’t mind every their mistakes, you’ll just overlook them.

After only 11 months since last years general elections, the MPs in Uganda’s 9th parliament want to lift a ban on presidential age limits in order to allow people aged over 75 years to contest for president. The debate follows an argument in parliament that NRM and president Museveni won last year’s elections overwhelmingly with 85% of the total votes cast (but with only 30% voter turn out). As if this debate is not enough, there is a heated campaign in parliament about the age limit clause in the National constitution ofUganda.

The argument is that if someone like president Museveni is still alive and the people still like him, the country should not be denied the opportunity to benefit from his “visionary” leadership just because the person is above 75 years!

Some MPs argue that they want the clause deleted in order to allow people aged above 75 years to get an opportunity to ruleUganda. This campaign is being spearheaded by some NRM MPs fromBuganda. However few vocal opposition MPs in the house shout in disapproval, saying that the move will give Museveni a chance to ruleUgandafor life.

Where technology is taking the world few people seems to understand. Now when someone is in USA and wants to listen to radio stations in Uganda can only pick a phone and start listening for free of charge.

Radio Simba FM (Uganda) has pioneered a new technology that enables people (Ugandans in US) to listen to Radio Simba FM using their mobile phones by dialing 712-432-2360.

Sections of Ugandans in USA who have dialed this number testify that it works and it’s clear. The service is for free day and night and it doesn’t require data connection.

The government owned New Vision is facing a demand to pay 500 million shillings as damages to the woman whose photo they carried claiming it to be the one of the mother of Kabaka’s new baby Prince, Richard Ssemakookiro.

Barbra Patience Kirabo told a news conference in Kampala on Thursday that she has suffered irreparable damage from the publication of her photo as Kabaka’s new mistress.

Barbara Patience Kirabo denies being Kabaka prince mother, Nansikombi

She says her fiancee who she was to introduce some time this year has called off the relationship following the publication of the photo.

Kirabo also says she is insulted wherever she passes as someone who is breaking Kabaka’s marriage with the Nabagereka of Buganda, Sylvia Nagginda.

Her lawyer, Francis Harimwomugasho, said Kirabo, a mother of one, was injured and is seeking an apology from The New Vision and a compensation of 500 million shillings.

Kirabo appeared at the press conference in the very clothes the picture depicted her in yesterday when the two newspapers claimed they had finally uncovered the identity of the prince’s mother.

It was not possible to get a comment from The New Vision about the controversy, but the Kingdom of Buganda issued a statement denying the photo to be that of Ssemakookiro’s mother.

It is very rare to hear stories of someone given a gift of a car and s/he rejects it. However this happened to president Museveni when he gave a car toUganda’s former army commander Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu and he rejected it.

Muntu told this informer that by law former army commanders receive cars, house and they remain receiving their salaries until they die. But when he finished his work as army commander president Museveni as the commander in chief of UPDF gave him a 4wd vehicle and he refused to take it. Muntu says that he told the people who had brought him the car to go back and tell Museveni that ‘am (Muntu) done.’

The former army commander also says that one day Museveni called and told him that he was going to promote him to general and become defence minister. “I told him I’m done. One day we were in Kyankwanzi and I stood and challenged the president on third term. I told him that we went to the bush to fight over staying in power.” he recalls.

Muntu goes ahead: “When I was in the bush, formerUgandapresident Milton Obote looked after my family. While in the bush, I was shot twice and Obote met my bill. When I recovered he bought me a brand new benz. I packed it at statehouse and went back to the bush. I am over strict and whenever I see a mistake I have to tell it so Uganda needs people like me to be presidents,” he says.

A pompous gal believed to be touchy to president Museveni’s press secretary, Tamale Mirundi last night engaged in a fight with a waitress working at Casabianca bar on Acacia Avenue .

It all started when Mirundi reportedly entered the club with a woman and the two sat at the counter. The woman whom Mirundi had come with put up a display of their affection. The woman kept on touching Mirundi not knowing that that there is someone who was being hurt. One of the waitress (whom we are told she is Mirundi’s former girlfriend) walked out. Mirundi being security conscious also followed her.

So he started consoling the former girlfriend who had now started crying that Mirundi had brought the girl just to annoy him. When Mirundi reportedly delayed the woman he had left inside Casabianca followed him only to find him consoling the waitress. The furious woman slapped the waitress and serious fighting ensued. It was Mirundi’s escorts and the bouncers at Casabianca who calmed the situation and Mirundi ordered the woman he had gone with to enter into their car and they drove off.
