FDC leader, Col. Kiiza Besigye has promised to continue with his anti government protests in the New Year until the current inflation, political persecution of opposition members and politically motivated arrests ends.

Besigye’s remarks comes after the police in Kampala told the media yesterday that the FDC president will continue to be under their surveillance until he promises to stop participating in antigovernment protests.

Besigye who was recently confined to his home in Kasangati, Wakiso district has told our informer who visited him this evening that he will fight on until Ugandans regain their freedom.

The FDC leader says that he is sure Ugandans are getting ready to liberate their country anytime so he will not be forced to denounce his pro people protests. Besigye says that the government thinks it can use the police to force him to denounce his crusade against despotic leadership inUganda.

Security agencies in Kampala are reportedly spying on Col. Kiiza Besigye’s home in Kasangati, in Kampala, headquarters of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), and Besigye’s up country home in Rukungiri. Besigye is the president general of FDC and he has contested for president thrice and lost the polls.

A source in security tells us that the cameras were installed five years back. The Vice president of FDC, Salaam Musumba says that FDC and Besigye are aware that UPDF and other security agencies are spying on them.

She says that the surveillance on Besigye’s home and FDC villas is now an open secret among Ugandans. Musumba however says that this invades peoples rights to privacy. Musumba further urges Uganda’s security agencies to leave Besigye and other opposition politicians in peace.

Police spokesman Asuman Mugyenyi however says he is not aware about the presence of spy cameras at Besigye’s home.

Brig. Henry Tumukunde these days he is a happy man indeed.

Our surveillance staff who followed Tumukunde to stanbic bank main branch yesterday were left in shock and awe when the brigadier approached the bank counter and unleashed several 100 US dollars to have them exchanged to Ugandan cash.

Tumukunde went to the bank in a pajero. All the business in the bank came to a standstill as both the workers and other clients had focused their attention on the brigadier. The brigadier was all smiles as he waved to everyone as he was being served.

Immediately after getting the local currency, Brig. Tumukunde walked out of the bank and drove away.
