The director of KCCA had earlier issued a directive last week that the vendors get stalls in city markets and leave Old and New Taxi Parks today.

Kayihura halted the eviction after receiving reports that the vendors were planning to burn taxis during the eviction. A source in police says that the traders will still be evicted soon.

On Thursday I was with colleagues from Kampala Capital City Authority and we decided to join the fun fare in the Pioneer Easy Buses.

I jumped to one going to Entebbe International Airport. The passengers in the bus were shouting and scorning the taxis they passed by.

They started saying that change always benefits the common people. The passengers told the policemen in the bus to go tell the inspector General of Police Lt. Gen. Kale Kayihura to let Co. Kiiza Besigye usher to Ugandans the long awaited change. The journey was to cost me 2,500 but I paid only 800/= shillings.

Zuena, a mother and also an upcoming artist has been seen a number of times by our informers in Kampala jumping into taxis or on boda bodas like ordinary persons. Recently Zuena told the media that life of being a celebrity is very expensive.

And we think this is true, because we have also started raising alarm that the wife to a great singer Bebe Cool is moving in Kampala like an house girl sent by her master to do some shopping down town. We have also learnt that Bebe Cool’s wife negotiates for prices before she jumps into a taxi or on a boda boda.

The question we have now is that, has Bebe Cool failed to buy fuel for his wife or he doesn’t want her to drive cars?

Others were overheard alleging that Tomusange owns an old Toyota Corona but his problem is that he no longer has money to buy fuel.

At entering the car, Tomusange and family chose to occupy the back seats and when our reporter came near him, the former referee looked so relaxed and easy. The UTODA scouts who saw him entering the car started chating with him before the taxi filled up and started off the journey to Mukono.

We have heard that Kakande is being lured to join the faith by the UMSC spokesman Hajji Nsereko Mutumba. A source says that Kakande would be given whatever he will demand if he coverts to Islam and maintains the faith.

The Muslims also want him to expose the origin of the powers born again pastors use to heal the sick, make the deaf ear, blind see, and demands to leave the oppressed.

Recently, Kakande’s son, Ken Kakande also joined islam and he immediately changed his name from Ken Kakande to Abubakar Kakande. We are yet to establish whether prophet Kakande will accept to join Islam.

The revelation follows the pressure by the Uganda Taxi Operators and Drivers Association (UTODA) asking KCCA to repair the parks, which it said are in a miserable state.

The Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director, Jennifer Musisi says that the former KCC leadership sold a number of plots around the parks and the current leadership doesn’t know exactly the space remaining to operate the taxi park.

She says that KCCA shall start redeveloping the Taxis Parks after the cases in court are disposed of.

Musisi says that it is not good to spend billions of shillings on repairing the parks and all over sudden the ruling coming out that KCCA has developed the parts which do not belong to it.

She however says that KCCA will do some simple repair on the Taxi Parks to save the passengers and taxis of the mud during the rain seasons.
