]]> The Ugandan security forces have allegedly shot dead Kawooya Yasin, the driver of Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi during the Arua Municipality by-election campaigns.

According to Kyagulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine, the hotel where he is scheduled to sleep has also been sealed off by security forced.

“They shot him because they thought I was in the car,” reads a statement released by the legislator’s team.

It is also indicated that Bobi Wine, fellow MP Francis Zaake, and several members of Bobi Wine’s team have also been arrested.

Kyagulanyi is in Arua to campaign for fellow independent candidate Kassiano Wadri ahead of the municipality by-election scheduled for Wednesday.

Nine candidates are in the race to replace slain MP Ibrahim Abiriga.
