Melyvn Lorenzen, Werderbremen striker has not yet decided his commitment with Uganda

The 21-year-old will not feature in Africa Cup of Nations qualification match when Botswana will take over Uganda Cranes on Saturday June 4, 2016.

“Decision time [for Lorenzen] will be after the match against Botswana,” Uganda FA communications manager Ahmed Hussein said.

He impressed for Uganda Cranes in a 2-0 defeat friendly match played with Zimbabwe  at Rufaro stadium in Harare on Tuesday.

Lorenzen was born in London and qualifies to play for both Uganda and German through his father and mother respectively.

Uganda coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic praised the contribution Lorenzen had made during his time with the squad.

“We shall definitely miss the extra impetus he would have brought to the team as we saw in the friendly match against Zimbabwe,” the coach said.

“So for now we shall concentrate on the able players we have in the team to accomplish our mission.”

The coach will be worried about the fitness of striker Faruku Miya, who plays in Belgium for Standard Liege, after he missed the loss to Zimbabwe with concussion.

The Cranes will also be without US-based midfielder Mike Azira, who has chosen not to join the squad stating due to fatigue after a busy MLS season with Colorado Rapids.

Moses Oloya also misses out having stayed in Vietnam in order to recover from injury.

Uganda are level on seven points with Burkina Faso in Group D, but the Cranes are second on the table because the Stallions have the better head-to-head record between two.

How to protect our families from inheriting habits which will inevitably come along with genetic chronic illness?
Regular nutrient-rich breakfast, eat sufficient amount of fruits and vegetables [two cups of each].
Encourage small portions of food at a time. However one can have another helping if not satisfied. Drink plenty of water daily [at least three litters a day].
Encourage physical activity during free time instead of TV. Use different cooking methods, including steaming, poaching and grilling instead of frying all the foods. Explain your choices i.e let your children know the value of the food they are eating so they don’t just eat anything.

While speaking at the burial of Lt Col Sserwanga Lwanga in Bumanje, Ssese islands in Kalangala district sometime back, president Museveni said he was shocked that Buganda region did not love him yet he had played an instrumental role in restoring the kingdom.

Museveni said “there are leaders here who don’t like other Ugandans. They don’t like me (Museveni), a man who came to help you (Buganda kingdom). Why don’t you (people in Buganda kingdom) like me? What have I done?”  This information is got from The Daily Monitor of January 15, 1996.

Without mentioning names, Museveni said that Buganda had leaders who connived to disorganize the country.

He says the Banyankore also had bad leaders but the Baganda have leaders who don’t like to unite the country and don’t want to be assisted. Museveni said he came to assist Buganda to develop.

Museveni added that Sserwanga was a unique Muganda in that he worked hard to unite other people. Museveni’s comments came at a time when Buganda had intensified its demand for a federal system of governance. The relationship between Mengo (Buganda kingdom) and Museveni has grown colder since that time the height of which culminated into Buganda riots in 2009 after president Museveni’s soldiers blocked the Kabaka and Katikkiro JB Walusimbi from going to Kayunga (Bugerere).

Antiviral medicines like tamiflu, and other supportive treatment that can effectively treat the illness are available in the ministry of health in the case of Uganda. You also need to drink a lot of fruits and have enough time to rest.

Influenza is a respiratory disease that is caused by influenza virus that is related to a virus that regularly causes diseases in pigs. The spread of influenza can be stopped under the following ways:

Always sneeze or cough into a handkerchief or tissues. The minister for health in Uganda government Christine Androa says the disease can be stopped by people washing their hands thoroughly with soap and water, especially after touching the mouth and nose or surfaces that are potentially contaminated.

The minister, while speaking in an interview urged people to reduce the time they spend in crowded places whenever they hear that there is an outbreak of influenza in any part of the world.

It is also advised to improve air flow in your houses/homes by opening windows. Further more it is advised to avoid close contact with people who show influenza like symptoms (try to maintain a distance of about one meter if possible).

Many men in one way or the other face delayed ejaculation in their life time. When a man delays to reach his peak of sexual satisfaction, it is referred to as delayed ejaculation.

Dr. Joseph Sebuguzi of Ndejje health centre IV says delayed ejaculation can be short-term or lifelong problem. The doctor says that it is very normal for a man to experience delayed ejaculation from time to time if the condition is short-lived. But men should visit psychologists if the problem is long lived.

Delayed ejaculation is caused by psychological problems, stresses, chronic health conditions such as diabetes mellitus and medications, such as anti-depressants, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health condition, depression, and anxiety. So in a nutshell, Dr. Sebuguzi says delayed ejaculation may result from physical, psychological concerns or both and its treatment depends on the underlying cause.

MakerereUniversity administration has threatened to expel over 500 students following Monday’s violent strike in which dozens of students were injured and the Anti-riot Police fired tear gas and life animations to disperse.

The striking students engaged in running battles with the Police and other security detectives protesting MakerereUniversity’s new directive to have 50% of their tuition fees paid before March.

The angry students stormed the University’s main building while waving placards inscribed “we need more time to pay tuition, we are tired of NRM government, Makerere University administration is expired,’’ among other wordings. By the time our reporters left the university police patrol vehicles were patrolling the campus and the policemen were beating whoever they expected to be part of the strike.

But it should also be understood that majority of the students who participated in the strike were from Primary/Secondary schools where they pay more than what they pay at Makerere University and always pay 100% before they report.

Critics and analysts argue that at times the students need to holistically look at some issues before they strike/riot. There are two semesters at MakerereUniversity in a year spread over 4 months.

The police also caused excitement by trying to chase the striking students around the campus and this is what led the strike to progress into full blown riot.

Kitgum woman mp Beatrice Anywar has re-echoed her call to the Government to intensify its campaign against nodding disease.

Speaking to journalists at parliament Anywar says that she thought that the measures put in place would have saved the children but currently the results are still negative and alarming.

She says that there are recent cases that have been registered in Kitgum district and at the same time victims are being raped due to lack of protection.

She also noted that the victims no longer have food and the last time they were supplied with food was in June.

Experts from the center for disease control and the world health organization have however not yet come out with clear causes of the nodding disease.

Kampala Central MP Mohammad Nsereko has requested Col. Kiiza Besigye of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) not to contest for president in 2016 general elections.

We have been informed that Nsereko met his supporters in Kisenyi parish yesterday and told them that if Besigye does not realise that it’s high time to call off Ugandan politics, Ugandans will delay to be liberated from Museveni’s regime.

Besigye has been telling Ugandans all along that he’s fighting leaders who don’t want to leave power. The demands for Besigye to quit politics have come at a time when FDC is preparing to replace him as party president.

However Besigye still insists that he will contest for president in 2016 with or without FDC ticket. Besigye has been telling his supporters in secret meetings that he feels okay to contest for president on any of the political pressure groups in Uganda like A4C, Suubi and 4GC.

Nsereko asks for the difference if Besigye insists on contesting for president and Gen. Museveni dreams for the same. Besigye has unsuccessfully contested for president thrice.

It is very important to note that frog jumps need a smooth and hazardous free surface. This is to protect the person doing the frog jumps from injuries.

Here are steps to be followed: in a sitting position put your hands behind your hips, leaping like a frog, swing your arms forwarded up and jump forward as far as you can and at the same time straight the entire body especially, the knees, elbows, fingers and toes.

Sit down while you strike out your arms another time. Continue jumping to the next frog jump without major stops.

Also note that landing the jump frogs on your heels is bad for your knees yet this is when your jumps go further and become more intense.

Sitting too far with relaxed quads is also bad for the knees, but landing on your toes protects the joints. At least 15 jumps should be done in a row for one to benefit both physically and internally.
