Maria Kiwanuka has been dropped as Finace Minister.

President Yoweri Museveni has announced a new cabinet with Maria Kiwanuka and Peter Nyombi thrown out.

Minister Jim Muhwezi, the Bujumbura Member of Parliament is back in the cabinet as the new Minister for Information and National guidance, replacing Hon Rose Namayanja.

Mary Karoro is now the new Security Minister replacing Muruli Mukasa who has been dropped from cabinet.

Maria Kiwanuka has been dropped as Minister of Finance and economic planning and replaced by Matia Kasaija.

Abraham Byandala has been replaced by John Byabagambi as minister of works and transport. Byandala is taking on a new role as Minister without Portfolio.

Fred Ruhindi is the new Attorney General replacing Peter Nyombi who has been thrown out.

There were reports that the Court ruling that saw over 75 MPs thrown out of the 8^th Parliament for crossing to other political parties under article 83 0f the Constitution might affect new Ministers who have been appointed as Ministers but on Independent ticket in Parliament.

But Tashobya, who is also the MP for Kajara County in Ntungamo District says the Ministers who are Cabinet but do not hold NRM ticket will be allowed to sign a memorandum of understanding and can be incorporated in the party as members.

Tashobya in an Interview with Journalists at Parliament revealed that article 83 of the Constitutional of Uganda does not bar any Independent MP from exercising his/her right with a political party provided one does not publicly declare that he has crossed.

He said that the new Ministers can perform their duties diligently following the Constitution.
