Pastor Wilson Bugembe

The innocent looking musician has remained one of the most sought after gospel musicians from the time he broke out with his Mukama Njagala Kumanya (Lord I need to know you) hit. Since then, Bugembe’s songs like Kani, Ani and Kaninde whose messages are sometimes satirical have enjoyed commendable airplay on both Radio and Television stations thus making Bugembe a highly celebrated gospel musician in Uganda.

Having lost both parents at the tender age of 10, the life of the Komawo Eka singer as a child was a difficult challenge. It is partly told in some of his songs like Yellow and Bibuzabuza among others.

What is for sure, he is among Uganda’s leading pastors, not because of his strength at the pulpit. It is reasonable to say that Bugembe’s songs like Komawo Eka, Wandibade Muffu and Kani among others have touched far more souls than he can touch as a pastor of Light of the World Church, Nansana where he is a senior Pastor.

 Her pals tell us that Harriet is now in deep love with Mubaraka. Harriet had reportedly settled with her other man DJ Afro Ssali and now we hear she is singing only Kawooya Mubaraka.

We don’t know whether Ssali’s pockets are now empty because not so long ago Harriet told pals that she left Kawooya because he was broke. It is also not clear yet whether Kawooya has got the money.

 It is said that DJ Afro is now in tears because the gal (Harriet) he had bought a Rav 4 has now vanished to Kawooya, a businessman in town.

Otherwise how do you explain the move by Jose Chameleon to park his posh car on Entebbe road in Kampala only for him to buy Ensenene.

Everyone who was around was surprised for chameleon to park his car and buy Nsenene from not so clean looking boy giving him the insects through the window.

After the boy gave him the insects through the window Chameleon immediately started testing them while cracking jokes with his fans who had now gathered to have a glimpse of him.

When he he finished  eating Nsenene, Chameleon drove towards Entebbe and left everyone praising him.

We have been told that Ross kissed Chandiru without knowing that her hubby was around. The kiss Ross gave Chandiru was taken by many like an enchroachment on Alaka’s territory.

Surprisingly, Singer Chandiru looked so excited when Michael Ross kissed her. We are also told that Alaka looked comfortable when Ross kissed his Chandiru.

However we suspect that Ross’ kiss to Chandiru will have an explanation when the female singer returns home to meet the celebrated lawyer. That latest that Ross has apologised to Alaka and the lawyer said ino problem’.

We have been told that Barbie is four months pregnant and that the foetus has made her too weak. The workers at OneLove Beach where Barbie is a manager in chief tell us that she spends much of her time sleeping.

Barbie and her husband Bobi Wine walked down the aisle this year at Lubaga Catholic Cathedral.

Their wedding was attended by over 500,000 people including the queen of Bugandakingdom, Sylivia Naginda.

The habit of copying other peoples’ songs in Uganda is growing every week, every month and every year. Reports of singers complaining that their colleagues in the music industry have duplicated their songs are found at police stations, courts and heard on radio stations.

For example, a little known Ugandan artist, M Jeff last week called a press conference and alleged that singer Juliana Kanyomozi had stolen his song dubbed ‘e sanyu lyange.”

Singer M Jeff told the press that he released the song two weeks before Juliana allegedly duplicated his song.

However when Juliana was asked by informers about the development, she said that some of the upcoming artists have a habit of claiming that well established singers have stolen their songs in order to make themselves also popular.

Sanyu Lyange hit for Juliana was written by gospel artist, Silver Kyagulanyi while M Jeff’s version was composed by Omulangila Ssuna.

Juliana says that she is not the first one small artists are targeting to get known, other singers like Dr. Jose Chameleon have been targeted before. She says that recently an upcoming singer, Jenkins Mukasa accused Chameleone of stealing his Valu Valu.

Uganda female rapper, Keko

It now seems Rapper Keko is one of the luckiest hip-hop musicians in East and Central Africa. We have been told that she has got over seven juicy deals in which she can earn over 100 million shillings after the maturity of the deals.

Keko has got a job at Vision Group’s X FM radio, nominee for the 2011 Chanel O VMAs, nominated for East Africa Music awards and recently performed lice at the Big Brother Africa.

We have also heard that Rapper Keko has now got a new job at the Crown Beverages Uganda Limited as the ambassador for Mountain Dew.  In brief Rapper Keko will be used to promote the company’s products.

We have also been informed that Keko is among the few Ugandan singers who can get over 20 million shillings every month. But we have not been able to verify this.

Zawedde’s band was recently evicted from Kampala entertainment centre. Since that time Zawedde band has been moving from bar to bar and from corner to corner looking for accommodation.

To be exact Zawedde got the new home with the help of the management of ‘the Heights bar and restaurant’ at Centenary pub.

Zawedde, according to sources, will officially open her new home on Wednesday next week. From that day, Zawedde will be performing at ‘the Heights bar and Restaurant’ every Wednesday.

We have been told that Zawedde’s shows will be free of charge for all her fans who can buy a bottle of beer whenever they enter the bar to watch her performances.

Babirye who will be celebrating 10 years as a gospel artist says mothers are very important in the society because of the challenges they endure as they play great roles for the existence of their respective communities.

Elizabeth Mushabe a manager at SMS one a company that supply music content said that the concert worth 100 million shillings is intended to become an annual event that will  be advocating for women issues starting with safe motherhood.

Mushabe said that although Babirye’s music is majorly gospel, her songs are among the most download pieces as callback ringtones on different Mobile phone operators.
