The Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) a youth wing of the Democratic Party has indicated its intentions to join the opposition alliance of Inter-party cooperation (IPC) in preparation for the coming 2011 Uganda General elections.

The Uganda currents political parties under the IPC alliance are JEEMA, FDC, UPC and Conservative party.

The head of UYD Susan Abbo told journalists in Kampala today (Friday, 25th June 2010) that the decision was unanimously supported by the UYD leadership.

Abbo who is also the former Makerere University Guild president says that the alliance provides the best opportunity for Uganda opposition to win the Uganda coming 2011 general elections.

UYD decision comes after another faction of Uganda’s oldest political party DP headed by Dr. Lulume Bayiga also resolved to join the IPC alliance.

The Democtic Party headed by the Northern Uganda Gulu district LCV chairperson Nobert Mao, refused to join the IPC alliance arguing that it risks weakening the Uganda political opposition.

This comes as good news to Uganda opposition as it prepares the ground to defeat the ruling National Resistance Movement Party (NRM) headed by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the coming Uganda 2011 elections.

The Uganda UPDF chief recently remarked that the Uganda Army will always intervene in quelling political riots when called to do so.

In a press statement seen by Ultimate Media Kulayigye says that the Uganda People’s Defence Forces will always help the Uganda Police Force to quell political riots especially in Uganda Urban areas because they lead to loss of lives, destruction of property and general insecurity in the country.

The UPDF spokesman appealed to Uganda opposition politicians to use peaceful means to solve their political grievances like the Uganda Courts of laws.

Kulayigye says the Uganda Army will continue to monitor Uganda political situation and quell political violence when called to do so but adds, that the Uganda Army will not promise to crush the opposition because Uganda constitution provides for their existence.

The Uganda Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Leader Dr. Kiiza Besigye was recently beaten by Uganda infamous Kiboko Squad for protesting against Uganda’s bad electoral laws.

Mao says all Ugandans should remember that they have the same colour of blood, red. In a news statement today sent to media houses by the Deputy Information Secretary of DP, Kenneth Kakande , Mao says the Acholi don’t have white  blood,  Baganda Red, Banyankole, Bakiga, Banyoro and Batoro yellow. Yellow is the official colour of the ruling Uganda National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Mao criticizes the people who look down upon other people because they come from Acholi and Buganda among other parts of the country. The President of DP reminds Ugandans that holy writings in the Bible and Quran teach that all human beings were created in the image of God.

The former LCV chairperson of Luweero district, Hajji Naduli recently said Mao cannot rule Uganda because he comes from north, a region where Uganda’s dictators, Milton Obote and Iddi Amin came from.

The Ndorwa West Member of Parliamnet in Kabale district David Bahati appealed to the opposition to always adhere to police instructions when planning to hold demonstrations to avoid falling in trouble.
