Transport charges shoot up in Uganda following Fuel scarcity

With the fuel scarcity in Uganda, transport fares across the country have increased.

Both the taxis and buses in Uganda are flooded with travelers and some are stranded due to unexpected high transport fares.

For all routes to eastern, northern and western Uganda, there rates have increased and some have almost doubled.

Transport fares have gone up


For minibuses in both Old and New Taxi Parks, the transport fares have slightly increased.

The Vice chairperson of UTODA, Chris Sengooba denies knowledge of increase in transport fares and warns the drivers involved. There are fewer passengers from upcountry due to increase in transport fares.
