UEFA Champions League draw: Arsenal, Manchester City and Leicester City likely opponents in last-16 draw

Arsenal, Manchester City and Leicester City await their fate as the draw for the Champions League last-16 takes place on Monday 12th, 2016.

Teams that topped their groups include; Arsenal, Napoli, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, Leicester City and Juventus.

The group runners-up or teams that came second are; Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Porto, Sevilla

Arsenal topped Group A ahead of Paris Saint-Germain but still face the daunting prospect of facing either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in the next round. Other possible opponents are; Benfica, Bayer Leverkusen, Porto and Sevilla.

Leicester City also topped their group but the Premier League reigning champions have prospects of facing Bayern or Madrid and PSG including Benfica, Bayer Leverkusen, Sevilla in the next round.

Meanwhile, Manchester City couldn’t finish above Barcelona in their group, which means Pep Guardiola’s side could get tricky ties against Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund or Juventus.

The Champions League draw rule states that No team can play a club they faced in the group stage or a side from the same nation. The teams that cant face each other in the last -16 stage are the likes of Napoli, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Monaco.

The first legs will be played on 14/15 and 21/22 February, and the return legs on on 7/8 and 14/15 March, 2017.
