Uganda blood transfusion services boos grilled over refusing opposition blood

MPs on the committee of social services grilled the director of Uganda blood transfusion services Dorothy Kyeyune for bringing politics in the blood collection exercise.

This was after a member of the committee Alice Alaso said the blood collecting body refused to collect blood from the people who were mobilised by the activists for change.

The authorities from the blood bank claimed that they had enough blood in stock to take the country for the next six months, but a few days later, the same leaders appealed for more blood as their bank was running dry.

The chairperson of the committee Sam Lyomoki said Kyeyune will have to resign if the country runs short of blood before these months elapse.

However Kyeyune said that by the time the leaders of activists for change approached them to mobilize people to donate blood they had enough blood in stock
