Uganda lacks political will to fight corruption

 The government of Uganda has been accused of lacking political will to fight corruption in the country.

 Transparency Uganda, a policy monitoring group alleges that there’s no commitment to curb corruption that has led to mass financial losses to the nation through embezzlement and mismanagement of public resources in most of the central government departments.  

 Some of the scandals that have seen several government officials in Uganda government implicated include money from the Global fund, GAVI money and the Chogm 2007 budget financing.

 The Executive Director of Transparency International, Robert Lugoloobi says if the political will was there, all the leaders in Uganda alleged to have a hand in such scandals would first resign their posts to pave way for thorough investigations
