Uganda launches construction of new Nile Bridge

 

The Republic of Uganda has today launched the construction of new Nile Bridge estimated to cost tax-payers and donors Uganda shillings 384 billions.

The new Nile Bridge is the first cable-stayed bridge and one of the biggest and deluxe bridge projects in East and Central Africa, according to president Museveni who presided over the launch.

On completion this 525m-long iconic new NileBridge with a life-span of 100-years will consume the longest single-plane cable configuration in Africa.

Uganda Government is building a new bridge across the Nile with the help of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
