The Uganda manufacturers association is warning its members against the continued production of sub-standard goods.

Sebagala Kigozi, the Executive Director of the association says besides being against the association regulation sub-standard goods can present serious health hazards to the local population.

Sebagala says UMA is working hard at ensuring local manufacturers gain the trust Ugandans to buy many locally made goods but such efforts will be fruitless if manufacturers produce sub standard goods.

He says while many companies are doing a good job by producing quality products, some manufacturers are still producing sub standard commodities which affects the market for all local products.
