Uganda Manufacturers want government to speed up development of industrial park

Uganda manufacturer are calling upon the government to speed up infrastructure development in the industrial parks. A number of business organizations have singled out the Namanve industrial park as a priority.

The Executive Director Uganda manufacturer association Sebagala Kigozi says they are not happy with the passé at which the construction of the park is taking.

He reviled that a number of manufacturer have halt the construction of infrastructure citing lack of improper infrastructure such as roads and electricity. The only two factories already established at the park which include coca-cola and roofing’s limited

Related development, government has further been asked to support its various agencies charged with job creation, investment and ensuring the standard.

The executive director of Uganda investment authority Dr. Magi Kigozi says many of the agencies are experiencing financial constraints which are affecting their operation. She says there is need to support these agencies to enable them execute their mandate.

She says in this new budget they would love to see the UNBS to be fully funded to enable it implement the key roles ranging from the standard of goods and corruption is minimized.
