Uganda Museum owes Kampala City Council (KCC) 150 million shillings in unpaid tax arrears. KCC has now threatened to lock the museum until the tax areas are fully paid.
Uganda museum was founded in 1908 and it is located in Kamokya, Kawempe division in Kampala. It has exhibits of Uganda’s cultural history, science and archeology among other things.
The Town Clerk of Kampala, Ruth Kijjambu advises the management of Uganda Museum to clear the unpaid taxes to avoid their premises being locked up by Kampala City Council.
Kijjambu also says KCC is going to lock up all other premises which have not fully paid taxes to Kampala City Council.
