Uganda Muslims told to be Calm amid conflicts

A team of high caliber Sheikhs holding a weeklong meeting at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) Headquarters at Old Kampala has said that Muslims country over should be calm and not to be shaken by the current conflicts in the top management of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.

The meeting at Old Kampala is aimed at trying to discuss the way of harmonizing the situation and setting up the UMSC Electoral Commission to oversee election of new members of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.

Information from Old Kampala indicates that the Electoral Commission will set up the elections for the new UMSC administration that will formally elect a Mufti of Uganda as Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje’s term is ending soon.

Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje who is attending the meetings says that Muslims should be able to elect their own leaders than power hungry people imposing themselves in offices.
