Uganda negotiates to expand markets

Uganda has kicked off negotiation aiming at expanding its markets with the other African trading blocks of EAC, SADC and COMESA.

The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Industry says the negotiations will  see an expansion of markets which will increase the country’s bargaining power, attract investments and promote its industrial development and increase employment opportunities.  

The Commissioner in charge of External Trade in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Industry, Silver Ojakol says the achievement of a Free Trade zone between the three trading blocs of EAC, SADC and COMESA will boost Uganda’s chances of becoming a favorable Investment destination in Africa.
