Uganda opposition women threaten to undress

Democratic Party women have threatened to demonstrate by undressing if the government doesn’t release people who were arrested during the September 2009 riots.

DP national women leader Maxensia Takilambule says they will strip on the streets of Kampala while in Adam’s suit to express their anger towards the government.

Takilambule alleges more than 20 people were taken from their homes and workplaces and up to now their whereabouts are not known.

During a press conference at DP headquarters in kampala today, DP’s deputy publicity secretary Kenneth Paul Kakande appealed to the government to release the suspect.

The suspects in question were arrested in riots following the stopping of the King of Buganda, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi from visiting Buruli county, Nakasongola district.
