Uganda to mark UN international day in support torture victims

Human rights organization has called on governments to do more to prevent torture. The call has been made as Uganda prepares to join the rest of the world to mark the UN international day in support victims of torture set for 26th of this month.

The Uganda human rights commission has launch week long activities a head of the day including media campaigns, candle light prayers and public dialogue.

The Acting Chairperson of Uganda Human Rights Commission Agaba Mugarura has asked the government and parliament to criminalize torture and put in place measures to stop the practice
