Ugandan mothers urged to choose good powders for babies

Mothers in Uganda have been advised to take serious caution while choosing powders and creams for their babies. Mothers use poweder and different creamsn to smear their babies for good skin and baby body comfort.

The president of the Uganda Pediatrics Association, Dr. Sabrina Bakeera says a number of powders applied on babies cause skin infections and can cause serious illnesses.

She says it is important that mothers use powders and creamns which they are sure will not cause skin irritations or illnesses, by inquring bfrom medical personel or fellow mothers who have ever used a particular cream.

Bakeera advises mothers in Uganda to seek immediate medical attention if a rash appears near the babies’ eyes, as this is one of the signs of allergies.
