Ugandans demand for Museveni’s HIV status

Ugandans say that if their president, Gen. Yoweri Museveni and his wife, Janet Museveni decided to take a public HIV Test, then let the nation know their HIV status too publically.

The DP president General Mao Norbert says that if Museveni and his wife hide their HIV status then it is of NO use to the people of Uganda especially the youths. He says Ugandans need to know the status of their HIV leaders.

Uganda’s First Lady Janet Museveni tested for HIV on Friday at a massive rally to mark the district and regional sensitization exercise on the prevention of mother-to-child HIV/AIDS transmission at Kololo Airstrip Independence grounds in Kampala.

President Yoweri Museveni last year took a similar HIV test for the same purpose.

Speaking at a consultative meeting at State House, Nakasero, Mrs. Museveni who is also the champion of the Prevention of Mother-To-Child Transmission [PMTCT] of HIV, said that she has discovered during her tours across Uganda that there is a need to integrate PMTCT services within the existing mother and child health services to offer a comprehensive package of services at the public health centers.
