Uganda’s attorney general is a poor conduct man, says court

Uganda’s attorney general is a poor conduct man, says Justice Yasiin Nyanzi. Justice Nyanzi refused to disqualify himself from hearing Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago’s case.

Justice Nyanzi explains that the Attorney General of Uganda made wild allegations that he (Nyanzi) would be biased but did not provide evidence to that effect.

The judge lashes out at the Attorney General’s conduct which he says is embarrassing as the head of the Bar and that he is groping in darkness. The Attorney General’s representative Martin Mwambutsya accused Judge Nyanzi of bias.

The attorney general accuses Nyanzi of being part of the 26th November, 2013 injunction uproar as the sitting judge. Nyanzi permitted hearing of the injunction to proceed between 8:30-0:00am through Fred Waninda, the Assistant High Court registrar.
