The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) is set to light up the Northern by-pass road before the end of May 2010.

 The spokesperson of Uganda National Roads Authority, Dan Alinange says they have fixed all the lighting equipment and they are only waiting for UMEME light up the road.

Alinange says Uganda National Roads Authority has been receiving reports that criminals rob and murder people on Northern Bypass road. 

He told journalists that last weekend an elderly woman was raped by seven men and a businessperson was murdered on the same road.

Alinange says Uganda National Roads Authority has already paid power connection fee to UMEME.
