vice president calls for protection of river nile

The vice president, Hon. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi is challenging the Nile basin initiative member states to front issues of climate change mitigation as a way to preserve and protect the world’s greatest rive Nile.

Speaking at a function where member states were marking the nile basin day in Kampala, the vice president sighted climate change as one of those great challenges the region and world is experiencing and need to be focused on.

Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, S.Sudan, Sudan, Ethiopia and Egypt are the member states in the Nile basin initiative
