Why government hates Sheikh Muzaata’s verbal diarrhoea?

Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata Batte is one of the most vocal Muslim clerics in Uganda and East Africa at large.

His no-nonsense vocal approach came to symbolize an uprising in Uganda against the administration of the Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje.

Muzaata Batte played the attack-dog role in the fight against Mubajje something which multiplied his popularity. Mubajje was found guilty by a court in Uganda of selling Muslim property including prime land in Kampala and lying to Muslims that the properties had not been sold.

His fight against Sheikh Mubajje created a breakaway faction of Muslims and also prepared him Muzaata for even more battles. One day a MakerereUniversity don banned veils and stopped a female Muslim student from sitting her exams. But Muzaata was there to lead a demonstration which police teargassed.

Muzaata then launched an attack against the government of Uganda for marginalizing Muslims in Kampala. The Muslim cleric was angry that President Museveni had appointed 10 KCCA directors and their 10 deputies and none of them was a Muslim.

He castigated Kampala director Musisi for turning KCCA into a born-again hub and for refusing to allocate Muslims praying space. When KCCA attempted to ban adhan (call for prayers), classifying it as environment polluter, Muzaata almost ran wild.
