Women leaders urged to avoid divisive politics

Women Legislators have been advised to practice clean politics and desist from practicing politics of accusations.

The call has been made by former members of the National Resistance Council led by Catherine Masaba Former Woman MP for Mbale Distinct who had paid a courtesy call to the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga to congratulate her upon achieving the highest office of Speakership in the history of Uganda.

Masaba said the women of Uganda have achieved a lot as far as affirmative action is concerned but challenged her colleagues to work for more until they achieve 50% representation in the politics of Uganda.

Speaker Rebecca Kadaga and her guest applauded former Women Legislators and assured them of their commitments to see that issues related to gender are given first priority and will seek guidance from them to see that affirmative action is achieved.
