The deal is believed to be the richest contract an athlete has signed in sports history, topping the 11-year, $325 million (£247 million) slugger Giancarlo Stanton made in 2014 with the Miami Marlins, before he was ultimately traded to the New York Yankees.

After fighting Golovkin to a draw in 2017, Canelo won an narrow victory on the judge’s cards in 2018, and has parlayed that success into a new, $365 million deal with streaming service DAZN

The Mexican, who recently dethroned Gennady Golovkin in Las Vegas, has committed his future to the sports streaming service for the next five years and his next 11 fights.

According to Forbes, Alvarez (50-1-2, 34 knockouts), the WBA and WBC middleweight champ, was worth $44.5 million as of July. He reportedly earned $50 million in September for his narrow decision victory over Golovkin. 

Alvarez will still be able to fight boxers who are signed with other media partners, provided that those outlets and all other parties can agree on an arrangement.  

Canelo’s first fight on the new platform will come on December 15, when he takes on Britain’s Rocky Fielding at Madison Square Garden.

The deal comes in the wake of the news that US network HBO, on whose shows Alvarez previously fought, will stop showing boxing at the end of the year.

The fight was approved by the Uganda Kick-boxing Federation earlier on with all eyes set on Golola as the favorite winner of the fight.

Golola has won 36 of his 41 fights losing only four.

The fight is said to end Golola’s carrer at the domestic level as he plans to shift the curve to foreign fights and building the academy.

The fight is set to attract majority of the viewers due to many curtain-raiser contests between various boxers from across the region.

Thailand-based Ugandan fighter Umar Semata weighs 75kg while Golola is weighing 85kg.

Semata has won 44 of his 77 career fights losing 30 and drawing in just three encounters while Golola has won 36 of his 41 fights losing only four.

The two will fight for a possible five rounds with the game set to be played under the International Kick-boxing Federation (IKF) rules.

The last time Golola fought at Freedom City against Abu Kikenwa  and emerged as the winner.The gets 10million Uganda Shillings while runner up go with 4million Shillings.

“I am savouring nothing, the only thing I am savouring is smashing Wilder’s teeth in,” he said. “All the press are here to see the biggest fight of our generation, you are in for a treat.

“I am in the mood for no messing around, no 15 stone man can beat Tyson Fury. If we fight 30 times I would win 30 times.

The Gypsy King’s promoter Frank Warren announced earlier this week the two camps were in talks and Fury is now confident everything has been agreed for the fight to happen at the end of the year, providing he beats his second comeback opponent Francesco Pianeta later this month.

‘I don’t know what he (Wilder) is going to do if he has a fight in between or not but he will have to beat his mandatory in Brazil if he does, and then it’s a collision course. 

‘I just hope we put on a massive, massive show for the fans.’

Unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua had tried to lure WBC champion Wilder into a money-spinning showdown for all the belts later this year, but talks broke down in the summer with Eddie Hearn claiming the American’s demands were almost impossible to meet.

However, Fury claimed his deal with Wilder is all done and dusted and has been completed just two days after negotiations begun. 

‘It’s been very very easy to make this fight,’ Fury added.

‘I’ve heard these promoters speaking bull**** that he’s (Wilder) been making demands that can’t be met, but I haven’t found that to be the case at all.

‘We have basically done this deal in two days. It has been the most straightforward and least complicated deal I have ever done and found him and his team gentlemen to deal with.’

Wilder represents a significant step up in class for Fury, who only returned from a two-and-a-half-year absence from the ring back in June by beating journeyman cruiserweight Sefer Seferi.

But while the former unified champion recognises the American is a threat, he is confident of beating him and sitting atop the heavyweight throne once again.

‘Me and Deontay have been back and forth for years. I think he’s great for boxing. He’s (Wilder) the most dangerous heavyweight out there, barring none,’ Fury said.

‘But after I kick his ass, I’ll take him out around Las Vegas and show him how to party. Las Vegas is the destination, so I’ve been told. December’s the month, 2018 is the year.

‘Unleash the Gypsy King in Las Vegas and we’ll paint the town red, completely. It’s going to be a massive boxing event, you’ve got two of the biggest heavyweights in the world. The biggest mouths, it’s going to be an epic battle.

‘You’ve got two men who are not afraid to take fights. I went to Germany and beat Wladimir Klitschko, I’m about to go to Ireland to beat Francesco Pianeta, and then the next stop is Las Vegas. I’m on the road.’

Francis, who is survived by his wife Ghalia and son Rocco, also won English, British and Commonwealth titles during a career in which he also fought at light-heavyweight and cruiserweight.

Joe Calzaghe considered Francis, who retired four years ago, the finest British fighter to never win a world title, and the British boxing community has paid tribute to the Bristolian.

‘My family and all at Matchroom Boxing send our deepest condolences to the family of Dean Francis, a great fighter and a lovely man,’ promoter Eddie Hearn wrote on social media. ‘Rest in peace.’

Former world cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli wrote: ‘So sad to hear of the passing of Dean Francis my thought and prayers are with his family at this tough time.’

‘Such sad news,’ added former world lightweight champion Anthony Crolla. ‘A great fighter if wasn’t for injuries earlier in his career would have been a world champion for sure.’

Bogere suffered a partial tear of the left Achilles tendon while in training recently.

He will return to training in approximately four to six weeks according to a report from his managers.

Bogere’s managers say the two boxing champions are in negotiations to have the fight rescheduled.

Nagy seemed to be set for another victory over Ugandan opposition when he knocked Mugula down in the first round.

But the Uganda came strongly in the second round and injected Nagy with punches and kicks that made the Hungarian bleed and fail to recover after he fell to the ground.

Motor mouthed Moses Golola who lost to Andras Nagy earlier this year was the happiest man on the evening jubilating like he had won a lottery.

Mugula improved on his record to 43 wins in his 59 fights to make many Ugandans happy for the sporting victory. The German based Ugandan had earlier predicted he would defeat Nagy in the second round and many Ugandans were anxious not to have another loss after Golola lost having promised to easily defeat the not so talkative Hungarian.

“He is a good fighter but I have prepared myself. He will go down in the second round,” Mugula assured the nation shortly before his weigh-in on Thursday.

Mugula delivered with his 23^rd knockout that gave him the international title.  Some spectators were however disappointed that Nagy was defeated so easily as they had paid to watch what many thought was a long fight between two quality contenders.

The event will involve American, Swedish and African fighters at Namboole Stadium come May 2010.

American heavyweights Joey Abell and Alfred Cole will renew their rivalry in a 12-round World Boxing Federation (WBF) interim bout at Namboole.
