Chief Justice Benjamin Odoki has summoned justice Remmy Kasule and Stephen Kavuma over their reported refusal to disqualify themselves from the panel hearing Edward Kiwanuka Sekandi election cases yet there is an allegation of personal bias.

Justice Odoki has summoned the two judges following a petition Jude Mbabali of the Democratic Party to the Chief Justice.

In a letter Mbabali’s lawyers of Lukwago and company advocates lodged at the Chief Justice’s office, the petitioners alleged that the Vice President Sekandi is a brother in law to Justice Remmy Kasule.

It was also further alleged that Justice Kavuma and Sekandi transact business together in a Limited Liability company based in Rubaga. The sources told us that the two judges in question will meet Odoki over this issue this week.

Kigozi says the old man faces charges of aggravated defilement. The offence attracts a death penalty on conviction.

Kigozi says that the old man reportedly defiled the girl on January 11^th, 2012. The girl confesses that she was sexually abused by her grandfather, an allegation the old man denies.

He says that the mother of the girl wants him jailed such that she sales his plot of land. 

The police surgeon report confirms that the girl was abused but it doesn’t indicate clearly that it is the old man who is responsible.

She says that she has collected enough evidence to prove that the polls were rigged in favour of the DP candidate, an allegation Nabukenya denies.

She has informed our informers that the initial counting of the ballots after the by elections indicated that she was in the lead but she got shocked when the electoral commission announced Nabukenya as the winner.

Ms Nalwanga thanked all her voters and promised that she will soon tell them officially about her second step. She says that she consulted the NRM secretariat for legal advice before she finally came out with the decision to challenge Nabukenya’s elections in court.
