About US:

Nile Vocational Institute (NVI) was established by African Evangelistic Enterprise – Uganda in 1988 in partnership with Kindernothilfe, a German childcare organization to offer Vocational skills training to the vulnerable youth in the country. This establishment was as an aftermath of the rising number of orphaned children due to the HIV/Aids scourge, and the civil war that the country had undergone. It was recently accredited by National Council for Higher Education.

Job Summary: The Administrator will plan and implement set objectives for effective and efficient functioning of the HR, Administrative, and Logistical support services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Tasked with human resource development and management
  • In charge of logistics/ fleet management
  • Ensure policy implementation and adherence
  • Organisational information management
  • Management of students’ meals

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field
  • A minimum of five years of office management and administration experience in a non-profit or tertiary organization
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the relevant laws and policies especially those related to tertiary institutions.
  • Patient personality
  • Good communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Mature born-again Christians and demonstrate an uncompromised Christian witness and commitment.
  • Age: Between 28- 45 years

Job Title:             Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Coordinator

Job Summary: The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Coordinator (AMELCo) will assist the MEL Manager in the implementation of monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) across the region to ensure that Right To Play contributes to a healthier and safer world through sport and play by facilitating continuous organizational learning, providing credible evidence and improving program quality. The incumbent collaborates with staff, not only at the Africa Office and country office level, but also within the broader region and across the organization, globally. The primary roles and responsibilities of the AMELCo are to (a) Support in the implementation of Right To Play’s monitoring, evaluation and Learning plan, within the RTP global Monitoring and Evaluation (ME) framework and specific to country strategies, needs and contexts; (b) Support in programs outcome monitoring and support the development of regional dashboards and program reports; (c) support program evaluations

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning systems Management (40%)

  • Supports analysis and compiling outcome monitoring data and support in reporting, documentation and learning activities
  • Carries out data audits and checks data for data quality assurance.
  • Ensures data storage is in line with RTP standards.
  • Supports in high level           statistical analysis on            country level quantitative data
  • Conducts analysis of regional data, and share quarterly regional dashboard reports.
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting of outputs by coordinating, analyzing, updating and maintaining the quarterly count system.
  • Develops and submits output, outcome, and evaluation reports to the Country Manager and the Regional MELO.
  • Offers support in the development and implementation of regional       MEL database which encompasses key organizational outputs
  • Actively participates in dialogues for innovations and improvements to enhance effectiveness of the global MEL framework and systems.

Monitoring, evaluation and learning capacity building and support (30%)

  • Supports MEL related capacity building to staff and partners as necessary across the region
  • Supports regional MEL trainings to enhance monitoring, evaluation and learning and information sharing of regional and partner’s staff and supports MELOs to design and implement trainings in respective countries.
  • Conducts periodic country technical assistance trips to support quality of data management systems.

Conducting Assessments, Evaluations and Studies (20%)

  • Offers timely technical support in major baseline and needs assessment studies
  • Provides technical support in mid-term and final evaluations, strategic learning studies and operational research studies learning studies and researches

Others: Performing other duties as assigned (10%)

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the Right To Play (RTP) Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Coordinator job placement should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development or related discipline.
  • Additional training in Monitoring and Evaluation such as university courses, workshops, certificates.
  • A minimum of three years of practical experience developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks (developing logic frameworks, outcomes, indicators, targets and data collection plans).
  • One year of practical experience working with social programs.
  • At least three years leading and conducting data collection, both qualitative (focus groups, interviews, observations) and quantitative (surveys, statistics review).
  • Previous exposure and experience in conducting high level analysis for quantitative data (descriptive and inferential analysis) and qualitative data (identifying key themes and sub-themes).
  • Previous exposure and experience in managing data sets (coordinating data entry, ensuring data quality, managing data confidential storage).
