The President and the European Union delegation held their annual political dialogue meeting in accordance with Article 8 of the Cotonou Partnership Agreement and forms part of regular political dialogue between Uganda and the EU on global, regional and national issues.

The European Union Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Attilio Pacifici, who led the delegation, had earlier condoled with the President and the people of Uganda following the landslide disaster in Bududa District in which over 55 people are confirmed to have perished and hundreds displaced. The President and the Ambassadors talked about regional issues such as security in South Sudan, Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), climate change, trade and investment climate, among others.

President Museveni called upon the Ambassadors to encourage companies in their countries to invest in Uganda citing that there is need to create employment for the youth. He assured them that he is handling the issue of the Uganda Investment Authority to stop the infighting for investor confidence.

The EU delegation commended President Museveni and the Government of Uganda for the commitment towards finding peace in the region to facilitate trade and development and hospitality towards the refugees.

Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, Foreign Affairs Minister, Sam Kuteesa, that of Finance and Economic Planning, Matia Kasaija, Attorney General, William Byaruhanga, Security Minister, Elly Tumwiine, National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General, Justice Kasule Lumumba and other senior government officials, attended the meeting.

Concerned youths have renewed demand for the foreign Affairs minister,Sam Kahamba Kuteesa, to be relieved of his duties over alleged bribe in helping a Chinese energy company to secure oil business advantage .

led by former Makerere University guild President, David Bala, the group has petitioned the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga against the conduct of the Kuteesa over 1.8 billion shillings bribery scandal and demanded to refers the matter to an appropriate committee for investigations as well as moving a motion to impeach Kuteesa as a Minister of Foreign Affairs for his dishonorable conduct.

They noted that their petition is based on reports that the Justice Department of the United States of America had implicated the minister for successfully creating a fake charity organization with a ploy to engage in bribery and money laundering activities and indeed received the bribe.

Bala said that contrary to principles established in the Constitution, Leadership Code of Conduct, values and aspirations of Ugandans, Hon. Kuteesa conducted himself in a manner that is corrupt and detrimental to the public good, welfare and good governance of the country.

The youth say Kuteesa exported corruption to other countries which is tarnishing Uganda’s image and blocking other citizens from getting jobs in other countries due to fear of being also corrupt.

The Speaker promised to give the group a response to this matter within two weeks, noting that the same matter was tabled before the house by Ntungamo Municipality MP, Gerald Karuhanga with similar demands.

Hon. Sam Kutesa allegedly received the $500,000 bribe while he wascserving as president of the U.N. General Assembly

Opposition MPs have asked the foreign Affairs minister Sam kahamba Kutesa to explain to parliament the alleged bribe case on helping a Chinese energy company getting unlicensed oil blocks in Uganda.

The matter was raised by the Member of Parliament for Ntungamo municipality Gerald karuhanga on the floor of parliament in the Tuesday session chaired by the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga.

Karuhanga was supported by Hon Theodore Ssekikubo calling for Minister Sam Kutesa to make a personal statement over this report to clear his name which has been in the media for bad reasons.

However the deputy Attorney General Mwesigwa Rukutana blocked karuhanga’s plea on ground that his assertion on Kutesa was not based on formal official document but only media reports which cannot move parliament to make a decision on the matter.

According to the allegations, Kutesa solicited the payment from Ho, purportedly for a charitable foundation that he wished to launch. In around February 2016, the money was then wired to Kutesa’s account through a bank in New York

It seems the long suffering Uganda opposition leaders and members who have suffered untold looting, harassment and torture from rapacious Ugandan leaders are now fighting back by mobilizing Ugandans and working with the international community such as England and USA to aggressively fight the Uganda National Resistance Movement officials who have reportedly stolen wealthy. Some of the Uganda cabinet ministers who are suspected to have stolen the country’s funds includes Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi, Foreign Affairs minister, Sam Kutesa and ruling party chief whip, John Nasasira among others.

Col. Kiiza Besigye, the president General of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) says that opposition members want to make it an increasingly high risk for government officials in Uganda to embezzle public funds. President Museveni all along has been seen by many people as shielding thieving government officials.

Besigye alleges that some officials in Uganda government are dirtiest politicians and computer hackers who can break into electronic vaults and steal the country’s resources. He says that Ugandans no longer want to be grievously robbed by the thieving Uganda government officials.

You may not know, your close friends might not have told you, but president Museveni is secretly preparing someone to replace him when he retires from the presidency.

That someone is not even his blue eyed prime minister, Amama Mbabazi, Vice President Kiwanuka Sekandi, Foreign Affairs minister, Sam Kutesa or his blood brother Gen. Salim Saleh.

We have heard from Statehouse that president Museveni would like to copy a leaf from the Democratic Republic of Congo and have his own biological son Col. Muhoozi to replace him.

When President Lawrent Kabila died, he was replaced by his biological son Joseph Kabila so one of the presidential aides at statehouse tells this journalist that even Museveni would wish his son to run the state after him.

A source explains that this is why Museveni has kept Muhoozi out of scandals. A source says that originally Museveni wanted Amama Mbabazi to replace him but it seems his mind has now changed because all his attentions are now on Muhoozi.

A source further says that this is the reason why Muhoozi has started appearing at social scenes like at sports galas, beaches among others such that he sells himself well before the honourable voters. So don’t get surprised when the next president of Uganda is Col.

Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Forget what the constitution provides that in case the president dies, goes mad or resigns his/her vice become interim president. But for security reasons we shall not tell you how Muhoozi will replace his dad Museveni as president.

Former energy minister Hillary Onek was thrown out of the adhoc committee investigating the oil sector after he failed to provide a presentation on his case of alleged bribery.

Onek is accused, together with Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi and foreign affairs minister Sam Kuteesa of taking bribes from oil companies.

The committee, chaired by Michael Werikhe said they could not proceed without documented presentations from Onek, who is the current minister of Internal Affairs.

Onek said he did not possess a written submission of his response to the legislators concerns and had failed to get some information from the ministry of energy.

He asked for more time up to Tuesday next week to ensure the needed information and documents are given to be able to present his case.

The issue of resignation also came up after Makindye West MP; Hussein Kyanjo questioned his refusal to step aside while the committee investigates the bribery claims as well as the Rules and Privileges which is handling the issue of contempt of Parliament on the part of the ministers.

Kyanjo expressed fear that the committee could be wasting time if it did not first get guidance from the Speaker on how to proceed.
