Impeccable source in FDC tell us that the party’s iron lady and vice president Salaam Musumba is on verge of falling out with the party she formed.

All this saga comes in after her failure to be endorsed as the FDC flager bearer for EALA. It is rumoured that the FDC president, Col. Kiiza Besigye backed a junior Ingrid Turinawe. And the party’s national Mobiliser Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu and a team of his youth backed Anita Amongi who is also been seen as a junior to Salaamu Musumba. This has very much annoyed the senior Salaamu Musumba and other elders in the party.

People in their hundreds have besieged Buganda Road Court premises. The people stormed the court premises to hear by themselves the charges the government accuses opposition leader Col. Kiiza Besigye, Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, Kampala woman MP, Nabillah Sempala and FDC woman leader, Ingrid Turinawe.

The government accuses Besigye and group of organising an illegal assembly invKampala last Wednesday in which an assistant inspector of Police, John Bosco Ariong was killed.

The policemen have been seen exchanging bitter words with civilians inKampalaas they drove to Buganda Road Court in a procession chanting opposition slogans and V signs.

Police spokesperson Asuman Mugenyi says that the police blocks peaceful processions by opposition politicians because sometimes they degenerate into chaos; leading to riots, loss of lives and damage to property. Large groups of civilians have been overheard cursing present Museveni’s military regime.

Many of the civilians at theBugandaroad court wished Museveni hell and Besigye all the good things on earth. Asuman says that the police will continue to break down assemblies by opposition leaders.

Their vehicles were recently shattered during the recent demonstrations, but the police and the government in general doesn’t want opposition leaders to walk on foot or use public means while visiting markets, courts, places of workshop… Some of the opposition leaders like Kenneth Paul Kakande (the spokesperson of the Democratic Party) have no cars because they were stolen, damaged in demonstrations or seized by the police. Kakande says that the government has impoverished them.

They don’t have the money to repair their cars but whenever they move on foot the police arrests them and whenever they drive their cars the police arrests them that mechanically dangerous conditioned cars.

For example in Kampala today, the police arrested FDC women league leader Ingrid Turinawe and Kampala woman MP Nagayi Sempala as they were walking to Court in a procession from their homes. The opposition leader Col. Kiiza Besigye describes the charges police charges opposition leaders as politically motivated arguing that the Government does not have evidence to sustain them in court.

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has asked the women of Uganda to tie themselves on trees at the NGO Forum (Kabalagala) head offices in solidarity with the mothers who are caring for children with nodding disease.

The mysterious nodding disease invaded northern Uganda and it has already claimed several lives and dozens of others are admitted in hospitals in critical condition.

The FDC women leader Ingrid Turinawe says that the women should tie themselves as a symbol of the indignity women have had to face as they tie their nodding children to trees in Northern Uganda.

She says that even men are free to join the women in the campaign to untie Uganda from all the ills that have plagued our nation. “Come join us as we declare – no to indignity, to suffering, to corruption, to all the other things that we want to untie our country from. Come to the NGO Forum,” she says.

The Leader of the women league of the Forum for Democratic Chnage, Ingrid Turinawe has been released by court.

Ingrid Turinawe of FDC. She heads the party's WOmen's League

This is after she was arrested and charged in court after her standoff with the police who blocked her accessing the city centre.

Turinawe was stopped from attending a press conference by the Activists for Change, during which they announced fresh Walk to Work protests.

She was charged of inconsiderate use of the road, driving without a permit and failure to comply with a police order.

The FDC’s Sam Njuba, Apollo Kantinti and SalaamaMusumba stood surety for her.

She has been released after paying cash bail of 500,000 shillings.

Speaking shortly after being set free, Turinawe condemned the status of the Kasangati prison, which she says is appalling.

She says the FDC Party members will be taking up the matter in Parliament to ensure improved conditions of living in the country’s prisons.

FDC woman leader, Ingrid Turinawe was promoted to head other female inmates at Luzira prison staying in ward 8 women section.

Ingrid who is out of prison on bail says that the inmates at Luzira prison loved her so much. She says that she looked so happy and said she was not terrified to stay at Luzira.

She says ‘I dressed in a pink, a colour put on by people chosen to head other inmates’ at Luzira. The colour for regular inmates is yellow. One of the FDC activists Dembe Catherine told this informer after this reporter interviewed Ingrid that Ingrid is one of the toughest women inUganda.

Dembe says she had expected Ingrid not to mobilize people to continue with walk to work protests since she is now on bail but the lady is still determined to participate in demonstrations if they come.

We have been told that the police have again searched Ingrid Turinawe’s house despite the fact that she was this week remanded to Luzira prison over treason charges.

Turinawe is the head of the Forum for Democratic Change’s (FDC) Women’s League. Ingrid was arrested on Monday in connection with treason charges.

A source working with police has told us that they have conducted another search of the residence of Turinawe in Manyangwa, in Gayaza road to establish whether she actually doesn’t have prohibited military weapons.

A source says that they went back to Turinawe’s home because she did not cooperate well with the police during the first search. A source says that the police had her keys which they picked from her before she was remanded to Luzira.
