Upon arrival to the Manipal hospital in India, Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament Francis Zaake has been admitted to the intensive care unit,  according to the MP’s wife, Bridget Namirembe.

Ms Namirembe additionally said that the MP has been diagnosed with closed head injury with multiple soft tissue injuries, blunt neck injury due to tear of the ligaments, broad disc slips and post-traumatic disorientation.

Hon. Zaake’s first attempt to fly out of Uganda to India for medication was blocked on August 30 at Entebe International Airport over non-clearance from the Police’s Criminal Investigations Department headed by Grace Akullo.

After the blockage, he together with fellow parliamentarian and Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi were later forcefully arrested and driven to Kiruddu, a Mulago National Referral satellite hospital in Kampala.

Mr Zaake left the country after charges of treason and unlawful escape from police custody had been slapped on him but was given a police bond until October 3 when he is expected to report to police.

We are told that Julie left Uganda for US last week and delivered the pastor’s third child. The pastors’ pals have told us that Mutesasira is preparing to go to US to meet his wife.

 

Julie Mutesasira had been in intensive care unit in US since she arrived there and received by a pal to her husband only identified as Hilda.

 

We further hear that pastor Mutesasira of the Anointed Upper room church in Kampala has decided to name his new baby Mercy because it has been God’s mercy that the woman has produced.

]]> Mulago hospital personnel have revealed that the conjoined twins that were successfully separated on Saturday in Cairo are making remarkable progress.

Timothy and Trevor born in the Western district of Kabale five months ago underwent an 8 hour operation carried out by a team of doctors in the Egyptian capital Cairo.

The deputy director Mulago hospital Dr. Doreen Birabwa says the twins are still in the intensive care Unit and are recovering steadily.

Dr. Birabwa adds that the twins who are in hospital are safe from the ongoing violent protests.

She says they have started feeding and trying to live independently.

 

She has also lauded the Egyptian government and Mulago hospital management for all the support accorded to the team of doctors that is handling the twins.

The parents and the twins were flown out to Cairo last weekend together with Dr John Sekabira of Mulago hospital.
