Some of the patients we happened to speak to at the hospital expressed misery and anger over the changes saying they were not informed about the relocation of service to other health facilities round Kampala and many of the out patients state that they fear that even when they visit kiludu, they will not be able to access the very services they have been getting here at Mulago.

However, the health facility spokesman, Enock Kusasira confirms that between 2000 to 4000 out patients who have been accessing services from Mulago have been relocated to Kirrudu hospital as they wait relocated in patients to these facilities.

Kusasira also says, cases to do with surgery, pediatrics among other complicated health cases are offered from upper Mulago and all medical services are have been shifted to Kirrudu as they soon plan to shift pediatrics health services to Kawempe after completion.

Some top leaders of Uganda Police and State House (government of Uganda) reportedly mobilize and give money to some groups of unemployed youths to attack and brutalize opposition Leaders and opposition political activists during public political sensitization rallies.

The mayor of Kawempe division in Kampala, Hajji Mubarak Munyagwa says that they witnessed the police brutality last when groups of unemployed youth smashed the vehicles they were travelling in with the Lord Mayor of Kampala, Erias Lukwago and the former president of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).

On Friday, 1^st March 2013 a group of unemployed youth visibly protected with 100 plain clothed Police men attacked and injured these opposition leaders who were about to address a rally in Kawempe-their cars were destroyed and laptops stolen.

The land in question was acquired by the Kenya-Uganda Pipeline Extension Project.

The angry residents were appearing before the parliamentary committee on natural resources to defend their petition on the said project that they presented to parliament through the area MP Latif Sebagala last year.

The petitioners say that in 2009 the land was gazzeted and valued by Geo Maps Uganda which promised that they would be compensated within five months but that is yet to happen.

The proposed Kenya-Uganda oil pipeline is to extend the pipeline from Eldoret through Malaba, Jinja to Kampala giving it a total length of 320km.

The project was launched in 2007 and was meant to start in 2008 with the compensation of land owners.

The two were blocked after they intended to go on a roads inspection tour in Kawempe division and later hold a rally at Kalerwe.

However police under the command of Sam Omara quashed their plans blocking them from accessing the division.

Uganda’s opposition leader Col. Kiiza Besigye and 14 other FDC leaders have been charged with staging an unlawful assembly last Wednesday in Kampala central business area that led to the alleged murder of an Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP) John Bosco Ariong.

Besigye and 14 other suspects including FDC Women League leader Ingrid Turinawe, Kawempe Division LC3 Chairman Hajji Mubaraka Munyagwa, Kampala Woman MP Nabilah Ssempala, and FDC woman activist Catherine Dembe appeared before Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Eleanor Khainza this Wednesday. Besigye was also charged with injuring a policeman and disobeying lawful orders and blocking traffic flow in Kampala.

Besigye and his co accused were represented by David Mpanga. Besigye and group were granted bail and they are to reappear in court on April 17^th this year. Each surety of the suspects was bonded 50 million shillings and each of the suspects produced 20 million shillings not cash. Late Ariong was hit with an object from a building on Ben Kiwanuka Street. Eye witnesses say that a man hit the policeman with an object after he reportedly saw policemen mistreating civilians.

Upcountry supporters have started arriving in Kampala in various buses to attend a court session on Wednesday and witness the appearance of opposition leaders and Activists for Change (A4C). The president of FDC Col. Kiiza Besigye has kindly requested all those who would like to stand surety for the famous five plus nine FDC supporters to be at Buganda Road Court with passports/IDs and an LC letters by 8:00am. He also called on human rights lawyers to avail their services to the opposition.

Dr Kizza Besigye, together with Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago (DP) have been summoned to answer changes of unlawful assembly in connection with the death of Assistant Inspector of Police John Bosco Ariong.

The Chief Magistrates Court at Buganda Road, presided over by Ms Eleanor Khainza, summoned Besigye and Lukwago with Kawempe Division chairperson Mubarak Munyagwa, FDC women league leader ms Ingrid Turinawe and Kampala Woman MP ms Nabilah Naggayi to appear before her on Wednesday.  Ms Khainza also issued production warrants for the nine people who were last week remanded to Luzira Prison over the killing of AIP Ariong.

The nice suspects on remand are Harold Kaija, Robert Kavuma, Mohammed Ssebugwawo, Hanifah Nakitende, Abdu Mutwalib Kayondo, Malik Nsubuga, Ismail Kirya, Farida Nalubega and Hajj Twalib Kakande. The LC5 woman councilor for Mpigi district, ms Catherine Ddembe, was also summoned. Ddembe is currently in comma over alleged police torture and beating. The government alleges that on March 21, between Kafumbe-Mukasa road, Namirembe Road and Mini-Price building on Ben Kiwanuka Street in Kampala the suspects formed an unlawful assembly with the purpose of inciting members of the public against the police leading to the death of Ariong and injuring of AIPs Wabwire, Police Constable Julius Olweng.

Uganda police have charged eight FDC supporters with the murder of an assistant inspector of police, John Boso Ariongo. Ariongo was hit with a big stone on the head and died on spot on Wednesday.

The FDC supporters who have been charged with murder include Catherine Dembe, an LC5 woman councilor in Mpigi, businessman Yoweri Kintu, Robert Kavuma, James Kirya and Harold Kaija.

The police have also charged Col. Kiiza Besigye, Kampala lord mayor Erias Lukwago, Kampala woman MP, Nabilah Sempala, Kawempe division LC3 chairman, Mubarak Munyangwa with organising an illegal assembly.

The police spokesman, Asuman Mugenyi says that the file of the suspects is with the DPP. He says police is waiting for the reply of the DPP before it takes final action.

Hajji Musa reportedly found his neighbour only identified as Joseph in bed with his wife Sarah.

A source in Ttula LCI village council told us that Hajji Musa reportedly beat Joseph and afterwards sent him away naked. The drama surrounding the story was that Joseph ran away with a condom on his dangling short leg.

The wife and the children of Joseph looked on in amazement with him arriving home naked and were left in utter shock!!! Talk about the price of adultery!!!

Although he is the deputy organising secretary of the Democratic Party, Sulaiman Kidandala has accepted to work with NRM councilors who are the majority in KCCA.

Out of the 32 district councilors in KCCA, 8 are on Democratic Party ticket, two are on FDC ticket, two on independent and the rest are NRM.

Kidandala who represents Kawempe North at KCCA says that there is no way he could decline to work with NRM councilors who make up the majority in the council.

He was nominated deputy lord mayor of KCCA in December last year by the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago amidst resistance from NRM councilors. Kidandala says that he is willing to work with all the councilors and the government so he asked them to stop fighting him and they concentrate on developing Kampala Capital City Authority.
