Leicester City’s  boss, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, was among the five people who died when his helicopter crashed and went ablaze.

The incident happened on Saturday near the Premier League side’s stadium car park, a few minutes after the club’s draw with West Ham.

Police named the four other victims as Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare, two members of Vichai’s staff, pilot Eric Swaffer and passenger Izabela Roza Lechowicz.

Srivaddhanaprabha was a Thai billionaire aged 60. He owned the Thailand’s King Power duty-free empire.

Fans and mourners have already stormed the area to pay tribute to the chairman whom most described as a great man.

The club has also expressed their loss at Vichai’s death.

“The world has lost a great man,

“Leicester City was a family under his leadership. It is as a family that we will grieve his passing and maintain the pursuit of a vision for the club that is now his legacy,” the club said in a statement.

A book of condolence will be opened at the stadium from Tuesday and the team has postponed its upcoming League Cup fixture against Southampton.

“Everyone at the Club has been truly touched by the remarkable response of the football family, whose thoughtful messages of support and solidarity have been deeply appreciated at this difficult time,” the statement said.

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy, posted on Instagram, “Struggling to find the right words….but to me you are legend, an incredible man who had the biggest heart, the soul of Leicester City Football Club,

“Thank you for everything you did for me, my family and our club. I will truly miss you…. may you rest in peace… #theboss”

Wenger confirmed that the Chilean forward will now miss the Premier League opener against Leicester City on 11th, August and trip to Stoke City on 19th, August, 2017.

“He had a little abdominal strain that he caught on Sunday morning in training and he had a scan two days ago,” Wenger told a news conference. “He is out for a while, could be two weeks but he will not be available for Stoke.”

Sanchez, who was Arsenal’s top scorer in the league with 24 goals in the 2016/17 season and has been linked with a move to Paris St Germain with reports in the Independent claiming the French side is willing to bid  £80m and offer him up to £400,000 a week.

When asked whether he has spoken to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi,the French man answered “No, we have not. It’s a long time since I spoke to Nasser, because it’s certainly very busy to complete the transfer of Neymar and it’s a long time that I didn’t speak to him”.
The Chilean has 12 months remaining on his contract and Wenger is adamant that his star player will leave the Emirates Stadium.

Fans from across the world voted for the Algerian midfielder ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Andre Ayew, Sadio Mane and Yaya Toure.

Mahrez, 25, told BBC Sport; “It means a lot, it’s something big for African players so I am very happy, I am very proud.

“It’s always good to receive awards and for African players it’s a huge honour. To all the fans, thank you very much.”

He added: “Also I want to thank the Algeria fans and dedicate this to them as well and for my family.

“I just have to carry on and keep going with my football and see what I can do.”

The award caps an exceptional year for Mahrez, who had already won the English Premier League title and was voted Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year.

It is further recognition for his outstanding form as Mahrez, whose family comes from the small town of El Khemis in Algeria, took the Premier League by storm.

He was a driving force in Leicester City’s shock title triumph, scoring 17 goals and providing 11 assists .

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieiri was in attendance as Mahrez received his award and paid tribute to the winger.

“I want to see him continue as a fantastic player,” the Italian told BBC Sport. ” It’s very important for us, for the team. He is improving every day.

“I don’t speak about his quality. I speak about his sacrifice, he has fought for the team because it’s very important for us to be together.”

Mahrez became the first African to be voted the best player in the league by his fellow professionals, only two years after he had joined Leicester from Le Havre for £400,000.

Mahrez has made a remarkable rise from playing street football as a youngster to shining in the company of some of the world’s best footballers.

While on international duty, Mahrez has played five matches for Algeria  scoring two goals and providing five assists, and helped them qualify for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations.

His achievements have also been recognised by football’s world governing body FIFA, who included him on its shortlist for Player of the Year – the only African among the 23 names.

Mahrez now joins a list of greats, including Abedi Pele, George Weah, Jay-Jay Okocha and Didier Drogba, to have won the BBC African Footballer of the year award.

Arsenal’s start to the Premier League was less impressive in a loss to London rivals West Ham.

The Gunners were stunned as West Ham got away with a 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium. Cheikhou Koyate’s header before halftime and a low finish from Mauro Zarate in the 57th minute gave the Hammers’ new coach Slaven Bilic the perfect start.

Petr Cech, acquired by Arsenal from Chelsea in a somewhat surprising summer transfer, was at least partly to blame for both goals. The Czech stopper raced out to try and punch a Dimitri Payet free kick in the 43rd minute, only to miss as Kouyate headed into an empty net.

The second goal saw Zarate stole the ball easily from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in Arsenal’s defensive third, and took a few touches before curling a shot into the bottom corner with Cech being left flatfooted.
