In order to reduce cases of children with spina bifida and with hydrocephalus, the following interventions are recommended:

1. More sensitization is necessary to improve accessibility and inclusion of persons with spina bifida and hydrocephalus in society at national and local level. The celebration of world spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Day is one way to increase awareness in the wider public.

2. Public health facilities need to be equipped to the surgical and rehabilitation needs of children with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. 3. Constructions of new buildings should follow the accessibility standards as developed by the Uganda National Action for Persons with Physical Disabilities, while existing buildings can be adapted using these standards.

4. More attention to inclusive education in teachers’ education, and provision of education materials fit for children with special needs will assist in creation of a more enabling environment in schools.

5. Health workers need to be informed about the specific needs of children with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, and the importance of promoting folic acid use in women of child bearing age. In addition, there should be mandatory food fortification and this would be support y enacting a law to enforce it. Dr. Hamad Lubwama, the public relations officer of Uganda National Action for People with disabilities says that to understand the magnitude of the problem and success of

Intervention, birth defects such as spina bifida and hydrocephalus need to be registered at a national level.

I am the woman MP for Kampala. My names are Nabila Sempala. I want to share a very worrying trend in my party, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).

FDC is infiltrated by NRM impostors claiming to have knowledge of the party and its activities! I will not beat about the bush because that’s an item that the FDC National Executive Committee (NEC) members talked about during the recent burial of our party spokesman for Oyam district. One individual’s name came out! We don’t know his intentions but for the sake of the party unity, it would be good for him to keep a respectable distance for speaking authoritatively about internal and high level issues of the FDC party! He has never even been to the Party Headquarters nor is he known to any NEC member! He has never participated in any FDC activity nor is he known to belong to any league, constituency structure, and District structure. If he’s a supporter, he could write as such but we are afraid that he could be an infiltrator who wants to portray himself as an inner party- organizer! More information will be brought out about him and a few like him who have been hired to act as Opposition authority figures, who will then later denounce the parties! That is a very dangerous trick! So please own up or withdraw from the internal commentaries of the party!
For clarity on the above, I have quoted a few guidelines: A political party is a political organization that typically seeks to influence government policy, usually by nominating their own candidates and trying to seat them in political office. Political Parties participate in electoral campaigns and educational outreach or protest actions. Parties often espouse an expressed ideology or vision bolstered by a written platform with specific goals!

An individual who volunteers for, is employed by, or helps to establish and operate a political party is known as a party organizer/administrator, also known as the party activist or party worker.

A political party is typically led by a party leader (the most powerful member and spokesperson representing the party), a party secretary (who maintains the daily work and records of party meetings), party treasurer (who is responsible for membership dues) and party chair (who forms strategies for recruiting and retaining party members, and also chairs party meetings).

Most of the above positions are also members of the party executive, the leading organization which sets policy for the entire party at the national level. On a regular, periodic basis, party conferences are held to elect party officers, although snap leadership elections can be called if enough members opt for such. Party conferences are also held in order to affirm party values for members in the coming year.

Depending on the demographic spread of the party membership, party members form local or regional party committees in order to help candidates run for local or regional offices in government. These local party branches reflect the officer positions at the national level.

It is also customary for political party members to form wings for current or prospective party members, most of which fall into the following two categories:

identity-based: including youth wings, women’s wings, ethnic minority wings, etc.

Any one can chose where to belong in FDC or any other given party!

WCC invites  Youth Internship Programme in Geneva

WCC Youth Internship Programme: The World Council of Churches welcomes young people (aged 18-30 years) to serve as interns in its Geneva offices.

Interns work in a World Council of Churches (WCC) programme for a one-year period. During this time, they gain work experience in an ecumenical field and are given the tools to take this back to the local level.

The second emphasis of the internship programme is on ecumenical formation and community-building: as a group, the interns learn how to work in a multicultural and multiconfessional environment.

Each intern also develops an ecumenical project to be implemented back in their home contexts.

By providing young people with a rich international experience of community-building, team work and ecumenical learning, this activity strengthens both local churches and the ecumenical movement as a whole.

World Council of Churches (WCC) looks for Interns who are committed to the ideals of the ecumenical movement, to bring their energy, commitment and fresh vision to a specific work assignment.

Menopause is the time when the woman’s periods stop. For men it’s called Andropause.

Andropause is reduced production of sex hormones and the testosterone levels are usually highest around the late teenage years to mid twenties, and towards wards the age 30 it starts to drop gradually.

It can ably sustain a normal erection and sperm production. However for about 10% of the men as they approach the age of 50, the level drop significantly and could result in infertility. Men experience some mood swings, restlessness, low sex drive and irritability when suffering from this condition.

However the symptoms differ in severity and they aren’t similar in all men affected by this condition. If it occurs at any age between 30, it can be treated through sexual hormone replacement (testosterone). However when it occurs after the age of 50, the treatment is not effective because during this period the sexual growth is not taking place.
