The Member of Parliament for Kapelebyong Peter Emmanuel Eriaku has dispelled media reports that he withdrew construction material that he had donated to Angaro Community Primary School in Obalanga sub county  with the hope of being  the NRM party flag bearer in the 2016 polls. Eriaku dismissed the claims after criticism from all over the places against his action of discontinuing the construction of the school over losing the party ticket.

Eriaku who lost in the NRM primaries told journalists in Kampala that he only helped workers on the site to relocate because the company which was supposed to construct this school had no money and this MP had no funds to continue with this project. He said that he failed to continue with the project due to a debt of 100 million shillings which is still on him to be cleared. Eriaku added that he will be soliciting support for the new NRM flag bearer Johnson Malinga so as he wins and carries on the uncompleted projects.

Eriaku prays that Kapelebyongo county is elevated to the district status so as he can contest as the L.C5 chairperson.
He however promised to fight the opposition group in Kapelebyong which are spreading malicious and false claims against him.

Banyenzaki says he is ready to face off with his Party Executive Members who will be campaigning for the NRM flag Bearers. Banyenzaki proposed that the country goes back to individual merit under movement political system so that people choose their leaders according to competence. She added that the next parliamentary and local government elections will have more independents because many candidates are standing on individual merit.

Lumumba recently said that aspirants who will fail to get the party’s will have breached the NRM rules if they failed to rally before the officially elected flag bearer. In 2003, parliament  amended the Constitution by referendum and the individual merit system was abandoned for elections by political party system.
