Over-consumption of alcohol linked is to cancer. Almost 10% of all cancers in men and 3% in women in Western Europe are caused by people drinking too much alcohol.

The scientist in German analyzed  this data from France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Denmark, Netherlands, Britain  and found 50,400 out of a total of 79,100 cases of certain types of cancers including bowel and throat tumors were caused by people over drinking.

It is also good to note that alcohol and drugs misuse weakens the fight against TB and Malaria.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) says that the misuse of alcohol and drugs and irrational use of antibiotics has undermined the global fight against TB and Malaria.

An estimated 440.000 new cases of multidrug-resistant TB were reported last year in nearly 6o countries across the world.

Many people lie in hospitals suffering from leukemia. Their eyes and lips many times they become pale, their limbs thin and their heads bald.

The doctors say that the people suffering from leukemia many times have teary eyes. Leukemia sometimes is referred to as cancer of the blood.

According to James Kafeero, an oncologist at the Uganda Cancer Institute, in Mulago Hospital (Uganda), childhood leukemia is on the rise in the country. He says that the hospital at least diagnoses two people every day. Leukemia according to the doctors contributes to at least 15% of childhood cancers in the east African third economy (Uganda).

Dr. Kafeero however says that leukemia is one of the curable childhood cancers, if it is diagnosed early enough and treated in time. Leukemia comes when white blood cells are produced in the bone marrow and the blood floods.

And in a bid to legalise their love, Kasozi yesterday stormed Jamila’s parents’ home in Kabowa to make their love official. Kasozi was escorted by almost DP and FDC’s top leaders, artists’ friends and relatives.

We can only wish Kasozi and Naluyange a fruitful love and pray that let it be only death to separate the two apart.

The Chairman of Kampala City Traders’ Association Everest Kayondo says they are not satisfied with the out come of their recent strike.

Kayondo says that despite having resumed business, the traders still need to put more pressure on the government to put a ceiling on the interest rates commercial banks charge on loans.

The traders went on a three day sit down strike last week demanding that the commercial banks withdraw the increased interest rates on new and old loans. Kayondo says that even though they have opened their shops the government still needs to come out and protect the interests of traders. He was addressing journalists inKampalatoday.

Kayondo says the traders are still waiting for the government’s response on the issue of high interest rates. He says that the moment the government fails to solve the problem the traders will definitely sue the commercial banks.

Ugandan men say that they would forgive their female counterparts’ infidelity if it was to be with another fellow woman. The men our reporters have interviewed on the streets ofKampalasounded less likely to forgive to forgive a woman if she had played sex with another man, Walakira Nyanzi reports.

Our reporters had randomly asked 30 men inKampalato imagine being in relationship with a woman who cheats with another woman. Over 80% of the men interviewed showed that they will continue with such love while the rest said they would divorce her.

For women the results have been so different. Most of the women interviewed showed that if their husbands played sex with fellow men they would leave such marriage.

In the nutshell men sounded okay with woman to woman cheating while the women showed that they can not accept male to male relationships. A test for you now, would you forgive your partner if they cheated on you with a member of the same sex? Text +256712971085

Makerere University councilor to KCCA, Bernard Luyiga who had been rumoured to have crossed to NRM after the Lord Mayor of Kampala, Erias Lukwago declined to appoint him deputy mayor recently  has described the allegations against him as baseless.
Lukwago recently named Sulaiman Kidandala as the deputy mayor of Kampala declining to name Luyiga who had made an alliance with NRM councilors to back him for the same post.
Luyiga has however told our informers today in Kampala that that his ‘marriage’ with NRM councilors did not mean that he had defected to the ruling party in Uganda.
“I note with concern baseless allegations that I crossed to NRM because of Lukwago’s failure to appoint me as Deputy Lord Mayor. I wish to state categorically very cleanly that such information is coming from people who for some reasons (best known to them selves want to see me down politically), he explains.

The MP for Kampala Central, Mohammad Nsereko has told the media that the proposed ‘public order bill 2011’ is unconstitutional and all Ugandans should fight it off.

Nsereko has advised Uganda’s ruling party, the National Resistance Movement and the government in general to withdraw the bill in its totality.

Nsereko says that president Museveni and his government are bringing back colonial laws to muzzle people from expressing their views and opinions on matters that violate human dignity.

Nsereko further explains that if the bill is passed into law it will make life difficult for people who have seen the weaknesses of the government. MP Nsereko says that some of the clauses in the bill are a replica of the colonial laws drafted in 1939. MP Mohammad Nsereko also fears that if the bill is passed into law it will make Uganda into an absolute police state.
