Makerere University students to sue prof. Baryamureba

The students of MakerereUniversity have demanded the Vice Chancellor of  Makerere University, prof. Venancious Baryamureba and his deputies to vacate their respective offices alleging that they are acting illegally.

The public standing orders provides that a public officer will act in an acting capacity for only six months of which the Vice chancelor and his deputies have violated because they have so far stayed in office for more than two years.

Winston Nsibirwa, the chairperson ofMakerereUniversityconcerned students association, says that “we have contacted our lawyers to drag the university council and the persons bearing the said offices to court.”

Baryamureba’s deputies are prof. Lilian Tibatemwa who is the deputy vice chancellor in charge of academics and prof. Kikodri Togboa who is in charge of finance and administration.
