MakerereUniversity administration has threatened to expel over 500 students following Monday’s violent strike in which dozens of students were injured and the Anti-riot Police fired tear gas and life animations to disperse.

The striking students engaged in running battles with the Police and other security detectives protesting MakerereUniversity’s new directive to have 50% of their tuition fees paid before March.

The angry students stormed the University’s main building while waving placards inscribed “we need more time to pay tuition, we are tired of NRM government, Makerere University administration is expired,’’ among other wordings. By the time our reporters left the university police patrol vehicles were patrolling the campus and the policemen were beating whoever they expected to be part of the strike.

But it should also be understood that majority of the students who participated in the strike were from Primary/Secondary schools where they pay more than what they pay at Makerere University and always pay 100% before they report.

Critics and analysts argue that at times the students need to holistically look at some issues before they strike/riot. There are two semesters at MakerereUniversity in a year spread over 4 months.

The police also caused excitement by trying to chase the striking students around the campus and this is what led the strike to progress into full blown riot.

The Uganda National Teachers’ Union is asking government for a special jubilee gift as Uganda prepares to mark 50 years of Independence on October 9th.

The teachers want government to allocate 20% of the national budget to the education sector as a special package for the celebrations to mark 50 years of independence.

According to the Chairperson of Uganda National Teachers’ Union, Margaret Rwabushaija, this will help improve the quality of education over the next 50 years.

She says inadequate facilitation and poor remuneration affects the teachers’ morale which in turn impacts negatively on the quality of the graduates.

This she says has a direct effect on the level of the country’s economic development

Why Ugandans should not support Bishop Ssentamu to head the Anglican Church even if he is a Ugandan, as long as Bishop Ssentamu believes and even went to extent of removing his dog collar that President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe has done more and worse crimes against his people and humanity than his family friend President Museven of Ugandanhe deserves on support from us.

I challenge Ssentamu to tell the world one thing that Mugabe has done that Museven and his bush war crooks have not done. If this man Ssentamu is not working for western powers and or has personal vendetta or hatred against Mugabe the person, let me tell Ssentamu that the latest thing Museven has done is forcing poor Ugandans who have continuously refused to vote for him in Kampala out of the city and destroying their businesses.

When Mugabe did it you talked because and after your pay masters in London condemned it the only small difference is that in Uganda it affected black people and more so your tribe-mates the Baganda. In Zimbabwe it also affected white people who are also relatives of your pay masters in UK and the western world- Shame on you Mr. Sentamu to pretend that you love Zimbabweans more than your fellow Ugandans. I think Museven is worse than Mugabe because his crimes moves beyond boarders and countries and many are graving because of him.

Recently the international court of Justice found Liberian ex-president Charles Taylor, for arming Sierra Leone’s rebels and pronounced him guilty of aiding and abetting of war crimes or crimes against humanity. But he was acquitted of criminal responsibility and “joint enterpise” the civil war claimed 120,000 lives. What does this require of you Ssentamu where Museven has accepted, confessed & bragged openly to arming, aiding and abetting more than two wars, one in Rwanda claiming over a million lives, another in DR. Congo claiming more than 7 millions and still counting not to talk about the more than 300,000 death in Northern Uganda. Where is fairness & justice in this world if there is any God any where then you should not be God’s messanger.

The high court is preparing to fix the hearing of the case in which the wife to city lawyer, Enock Barata, is requesting the court to order Kampala socialite, Clare Grace Katima to pay for damages of eloping with her husband. The case is no 15 of 2012 registered at the high court family division.

The family division of the high court is located at crusader house in Kampala. This case was filed by Barata himself after his official wife questioned why he had left his home for a woman who is like Uganda’s city animal Bad Black.

When the man was questioned by his wife, he left his home near Lubowa on Entebbe road and went to stay somewhere, reportedly with Grace Clare Katima. The man then filed a divorce case. In retaliation, the wife also filed a counter case at the same court accusing Clare of eloping with her husband. So very soon the case will be fixed and the pals to Clare whom she reportedly grabbed their lovers have ganged up with Barata’s wife to testify against her. The source in court confirmed that they have already received a list of over 10 women who knows Clare very well right from Makerere University who also complained that she eloped their husbands.

One of her old friends whom they were with at Makerere told our snoops that Clare right from her university days has been eloping with her friends’ husbands and many times she uses juju to win their hearts.

This old friend of Clare says that she has already vowed to testify against her if the court fixes the case. This old friend also says that while they were there at Makerere, Clare grabbed her man and made her fail her marriage.

This media house has been writing about this gal before. Mid last year, Katima reportedly disorganized the marriage of Kasami and Kasami divorced his wife after only three months of marriage. So Katima’s friends tell us that after breaking down Kasami’s marriage she is now at Barata’s.

Ms Clare no body is trailing you but it is only your acts which do attract our snoops in the field to follow you up.
