Ms Suzan Kushaba, a 33 year mother of three and chairperson of St. Balikuddembe (Owino) Market Vendors’ Association has been terribly clobbered by a team of ruthless Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) revenue collectors in Owino Market and she is currently bedridden at Case Clinic/Hospital in Kampala. She admitted on 6th floor bed No. 7.

The reason she has been tortured and stripped naked is because she led a big team of women who petitioned Parliament, challenging the brutality meted out to vendors, especially women who toil to fend for their families.

Uganda is one of the African countries where women’s rights are abused by some leaders in power.

St. Mary’s Kitende girls’ football team put up a spirited performance against Kajjansi Women’s football club beating it 2:1. The two girls for Kitende were all scored by Irene Nabasumba in the first half while the one goal for Kajjansi was scored by Rose Namayanja in the second half.

The league has reached quarter final stages and the teams that have already booked space into the quarter finals are Shooters Stars Kazo, St. Mary’s Kitende, St. Mary’s Nabweru and Nsangi Wolves, St. Mary’s Kitende.

The Uganda’s women football league opened last week in Wakiso district amidst controversy with some people critical of the FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa claiming that his close female friend Mariam Kaliga was not fit to be the overall manager of the league.

The critics argued that the overall manager of the league should have been one of the ladies who have ever played football. Kaliga has never played football. The league is being sponsored by Mulindwa Over 40 women teams from across Uganda are taking part in the league. Miriam Kaliga, who is also the Makindye women councilor to Wakiso district, told our reporters that the duration for the league is one month.

Mariam Kaliga says that the winner of the league will walk way with one million shillings, a trophy and a golden medal. The second team in the league will get 500,000 shillings, a jazzy and a silver medal. This is the third time Mariam Kaliga, who is also the coordinator of Buganda women football association and one of the directors of Bunamwaya FC is heading the women national football league.

Our health news team today is informing you how garlic can better be used to get most out of it. Several herbal clinics, hospitals and small health centres recommend people to add garlic on their daily menu.

To get most out of garlic, it is recommendable that people consumes or eats in its raw form.

Medical experts say that garlic should be finely chopped or crushed before it is eaten. Get chopped or crushed garlic and add it to food shortly before serving starts.

The cooking and microwaving garlic degrades its alcidine and reduces its potential benefits. Alternatively, you can also take dried or powdered garlic tablets to boost your body immunity to diseases.

This is surely some good news for supporters of MP Brenda Nabukenya. The rumour we have got now is that she could be two months pregnant.

Nabukenya won the recent Luweero district woman MP by election polls. Her close pals in DP rumored to us that she could be pregnant and the man responsible if it is true she is pregnant is not yet known to the press.

We are not confirming that the legislator is pregnant. But it is only rumoured that she could be pregnant. DP insiders tell us that if it is true the legislator is pregnant, the man responsible could be one of the vibrant and loaded men in the Democratic Party.

Some of the vibrant and loaded men in the democratic Party include Deputy Lord Mayor, Sulaiman Kidandala, DP Legal advisor and Mukasa Mbidde. Our investigation team is going on to investigate whether really the MP is pregnant. Remember Brenda is not yet blessed with a baby.

The policemen who work with opposition face to lose their jobs. A source in Uganda police have told us this evening that the inspector general of police, Kale Kayihura in a radio call message today warned that its illegal for civil servants to work with opposition members.

The source quoted Kayihura as saying that there are some police officers who leak our secrets to the members of opposition. But we are told the police’s disciplinary team is investigating the reports and the officers who would be found guilty shall lose their jobs or be demoted.

Recently the police reshuffled the policemen who were working at parliament following allegations that they were working closely with the leader of opposition Nathan Nandala Mafabi and with other opposition MPs.
