Real Madrid footballer Dani Ceballos opened up to Radio MARCA about life as a Los Blancos player and he made it clear that he was unhappy at the way he was dealt with by Zinedine Zidane.

The style that the team had under Zidane might have worked well but for Ceballos in particular, it was obvious that the French head coach preferred other players rather than him.

“During the regular season, I felt frustration and resentment towards Zidane,” he explained.

“During the regular season, I felt frustration and resentment towards Zidane.” Said Ceballos

“There was a moment in the season when both Kroos and Modric were injured but he opted to change the style of play to bring in others players instead. It burns you a little and hurts you. We were 15 points behind Barca and only had the Champions League to look forward to but I also did not enter those dynamics.”

Despite being overlooked last season, Ceballos remains positive for what the 2018-19 season can bring under new head coach,Julen Lopetegui.

“He is trying to impose his style, which is different from the one we had last year,” he stated.

“He wants a serious team who is ambitious with the ball. He likes to play with lots of possession and an attacking instinct.”

While the change in Real Madrid’s style of play is shifting, Ceballos made sure to reiterate that Lopetegui stands as a good replacement saying he is the “best coach we could have” after Zinedine Zidane’s departure.

“Last year was not a good year for me, but as a footballer I have matured because of the situation,” he continued.

“My goal is to triumph at Real Madrid, as I have said, now I want to give back to the club.”

Ceballos also discussed how while he wants to develop at Real Madrid, he still feels a part of Real Betis, his former club which he left only a few years ago.

“Someday you will know the reality of why I left Betis and you will see I am not a bad guy,” he revealed.

“I watch all the matches and celebrate their goals as if I’m still on the pitch with the team. It happened to Sergio Ramos when he left Sevilla, he still asks how they are and supports them. Your first team is always in your veins and you become strung between the old and new.”

Eventually the topic in question turned to the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and his recent comments in the press.

Ceballos told Radio MARCA that Real Madrid has, and will remain, a family like atmosphere for all players after Ronaldo’s words about Juve’s locker room.

“We have always been a family. I do not know if his words were addressed to Real Madrid directly but last year, there was no issues between us and him. He had a good atmosphere with the rest of his teammates,” said Ceballos.

“At Real Madrid that has always been great players, Cristiano is no longer here but the team is still working. Benzema, Asensio and Bale are stepping up and throwing the team on their backs. Cristiano’s 40 goals are gone but the top players can do it.”

Three-time UEFA Champions League-winning manager Zinedine Zidane has reportedly set his sights on managing in the Premier League, and has a certain club in mind.

Zinedine Zidane hopes to succeed Jose Mourinho as Manchester United manager as the former Real Madrid coach considers his return to football. Zidane was being lined up as sporting director at Juventus but wants to stay in management and has set his sights on the Premier League and, in particular, United.

According to L’Equipe, the 46-year-old is now keen to test his ability in the English top flight, and is especially interested in taking charge of Manchester United.

The Portuguese tactician is said to be under pressure to deliver the Premier League trophy this season, and it seems likely he will not remain in charge if he fails to do so

Some believe Jose Mourinho’s stay at the Red Devils is slowly coming to an end as the manager is not happy with the backing he has received from his board in the latest transfer window.

United managed to make only three signings before the deadline: Diogo Dalot, Fred and Lee Grant, who is a third-choice goalkeeper.

In the past, Mourinho has seldom stayed longer than three seasons at a club, and Zidane is said to be very aware of this, which is why he is apparently putting his name in the hat should the role open up.

The former Real Madrid coach also spoke about his future, admitting that he has no plans.

“I’m resting and I don’t know what I’m going to do,” he told journalists.

Zidane was at an event in Saint-Denis, close to the Stade de France, to inaugurate a new youth football pitch belonging to adidas alongside his former team-mates Laurent Blanc, Youri Djorkaeff, Fabien Barthez, Christian Karembeu and Robert Pires.

There have been suggestions that he could take up a role in the dugout at the French national stadium in the near future.

“This team has real potential,” he confessed. “I hope that they go as far as possible and, why not, win the World Cup.”

He also spoke about Kylian Mbappe, a player he was linked with signing last summer.

“He’s fabulous for the age he has,” he reflected.

“You have to let him do what he knows because he will always make the right decision.”

Los Blancos are yet to replace Zidane at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid continued their European dominance by registering a 2-1 victory over Manchester United to win the Super Cup on 8th,   August, 2017, with goals in each half from Casemiro and Isco.

The game which was played on a hot night saw Madrid going ahead through Casemiro in the 24th minute after earlier hitting the bar with a header and firing a shot over the top.

The Brazilian slid in a left-foot finish after he was played in with a perfectly weighted pass over the top of Man United players from Dani Carvajal.

Isco doubled the lead for the 2016/17 European champions with a shot in the 52nd, after Gareth Bale helped him run through United’s defense.

Manchester United pulled a goal back in the 62nd minute through Romelu Lukaku after Keylor Navas’ blocked shot from Nemanja Matic was not cleared by the Madrid defense.

Real Madrid super start Cristiano Ronaldo came on after the 80th minute but had no impact on the game as his team closed down their opponents.

Though Lukaku scored Man united’s only goal, he was guilty of squandering several open chances.

Manchester United will rue missed opportunities from Henrikh Mkhitaryan,Marcus Rashfor and Paul Pogba who also missed obvious second-half chances.

The game that was played in Skopje was FYR Macedonia’s first European club final with the hot temperatures of 32C (90 F) requiring two cooling breaks for the players to cope

The Super Cup is contested between the previous season’s Champions League winners against the Europa League holders.

Madrid’s win means their coach Zinedine Zidane recorded his second consecutive Super Cup title while united coach Jose Mourinho failed to add atrophy to his name.
