Amuriat and Busongola North MP William Nzoghi had earlier escaped Police at Rwamiti where road blocks were all the way with an attempt of cancelling their journey.

Patrick Oboi Amuriat stopped by Police on his way to Kasese

Forum for Democratic Change President Patrick Oboi Amuriat was today arrested on his way to Kasese for a party meeting.

Amuriat tried to exchange words with the police officers and is seen in the photo trying to remove the spikes that were placed across the road by police.

FDC deputy secretary, Harold Kaija said the whereabouts of their President is not yet known after the arrest.

“We are still trying to find out where they took him; we don’t know where he is,” Kaija told PLM Daily.

“Chairman Saulo Maate of Kasese had organized a meeting of FDC leaders in the district as seen in the program. Public Order Management Act does not in any way stop Political Parties from doing their work. POMA indicates that @PoliceUg is violating the law,” FDC tweeted.

Mr Vincent Twesige, the police public relations officer for Rwenzori east said Mr Amuriat and his delegation were blocked at Kikonzo-Hima town council on their way to Kasese town and advised to return to Kampala until their programme was officially cleared by the IGP.

Tumwesige said they received a letter from the Kasese District FDC chairperson, Mr Saul Maate on October 9 requesting for space to have their consultations and rallies.

On October 10, police advised him to meet all the requirements before they could be cleared, which he did not.

We advised the party chairman in Kasese to get clearance from the IGP and meet all requirements to support their request for the party president’s visit which he didn’t submit in time,” Mr Twesige said. .

However, Kasese District FDC chairperson, Mr Saul Maate said they are disappointed with the actions of the police even when they have obtained clearance from the Police.

We are very disappointed as FDC members of Kasese to see that our president and other leaders were blocked from coming to town yet we agreed with police. I have a letter from police dated October 9, clearing our programme and we shall not accept this,” Mr Maate said.

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party have asked President Museveni to apologise to Ugandans over the murder of Arua Municipality Member of Parliament Ibrahim Abiriga and others who have died in a similar way.

Addressing journalists at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Kampala, yesterday, the party deputy Secretary General, Mr. Harold Kaija, said the President has been issuing careless statements every time such murders happen and no one has ever been convicted for the same.
“The President has failed in his duty of protecting the citizens. He promised to secure CCTV cameras and several other modern equipment to fight murder in the country but all in vain. When Abiriga died, he called those who killed him pigs and senseless but these are the same people terrorizing Ugandans,” Said Kaija.

He added: “President Museveni should admit failing to provide security to citizens and seek knowledge from the Opposition on how to end crime in the country instead of blaming it on other people.”
Abiriga and his brother Saidi Buga Kongo were last Friday gunned down a few meters from their home in Kawanda near Kampala by unknown assailants.
During yesterday’s press briefing, FDC also denied being part of the chaos in Arua Municipality on Sunday evening after the body of Abiriga and his brother arrived for burial.

Arua RDC Peter Debele accused the Opposition of staging the protest, which saw mourners confiscate the two caskets containing the remains of Abiriga and his brother as well as destroying the chairs and tents that were meant for guests.
However, FDC yesterday said Arua residents were protesting the manner in which their sons were killed and they had kept their anger for a long time.

Late Nelson Mandela, the former president of South Africa one day said ‘you can’t know a country until you visit its prisons.’ Our reporter Walakira Nyanzi and his two other friends, Kaija Harold, the private secretary of Col. Kizza Besigye and former MP Augustine Ruzindana went to Luzira prison to visit former Arua Municipality MP Akbar Godi.

Former MP Godi was imprisoned for 25 years after the court in Kampala found him guilty of murdering his wife, Rehema Godi. The court sentenced Godi after the prosecution produced evidence that Godi shot his wife thrice and she died.

Walakira Nyanzi, Kaija and Augustine Ruzindana were surprised when they visited Godi and they found out that the number of people who were carrying one bar of soap or a Kilo of sugar to prisoners were too many. This showed them that people cared for their people locked up in Uganda prisons but could not afford to provide a lot.

It was a misunderstanding that Uganda has a democratic state. The president of Uganda Gen. Museveni has now lifted the veil to confirm that this is military regime.
In 1986 the civilian element was co opted for legitimacy. It was used like a veil that when you make noise like during the oil discussion, they lift the veil where both Museveni and the army said that the military will take over. They used the civilian to give them the expertise they didn’t have.

There is a national protest against the NRM regime. They silenced the parliament through patronage. Museveni is now militarising all organs that deal with people, eg the employment of Gen Aronda, Gen Saleh, and Brig. Nalweiso. The aim is to control the soldiers suspected to be against the regime. NAADS was put in place by an Act of parliament in 2001 for the following reasons; 1.To give farmers Information and knowledge about improved agriculture. 2. Improved technology, by giving the modern equipment. 3. Modern management of an agricultural unit in order to gain more from agric. It was aimed at connecting a farmer with an agriculture consultant. In the view of the above, where is Nalweiso and Saleh expertise in agriculture?

What are the credentials of the army in as far as managing public resources? Corruption begun from the army Nobody knows the number of soldiers. There was the Nakayenga Committe, Serwanga Lwanga and Tinyefuza Commitees all aimed at knowing how many ghosts we have in our army. The Tinyefuza Report on ghost soldiers showed stolen money 500bn

In 1989 Saleh was army commander chased for corruption and drinking. The army would buy food for the soldiers. It was stopped because the companies tasked to supply food were supplying air.

He took UCB where Uganda government had put in 72 billion and Saleh bought it at 11 billion taking the money and its assets prompting his resignation. Article 210 of our Constitution says that the army has to be productive. In 1988, NEC bought Mr. Kiwanuka’s Kisozi Ranched 26 sq miles with 10,000 heads of cattle at 900 million On that same land Mr. Museveni has his farm. Now Museveni who did have even a goat has 10,000 cows in Kisozi but the army has less than 400 cows. They have land in Kiryandongo about 20 sq miles. Recently Mr. M7 gave it to Mukwano. Another land in Kaweweta, Nakaseke where they had put the ANC fighter, it has 10 sq miles.

NEC was given a. Biscuit Factory and printers in Kawempe clothe factory. NEC was led by Col. Fred Mwesigye MP Nyabushozi. In 1994 the army constructed a bullets factory called Luweero Industry Mwesigye as its first manager. It repairs guns, make ulminium products.currently led by Brig. Mugira who replaced Mrs. Mbabazi when she came from URA. Up to today the industry is financed by the budget, it was constructed for $20 million. It has not broken evened. Our soldiers in Somalia are charged for stealing; the tax payer must pay the Congo government $10 Billions for stealing resources. Our proposal is that let the soldiers’ use the resources availed to them to act as models to others because the problem with NAADS stems from the politicians who supply air and pick the huge cheques every year. The army’s expenditure is always classified and therefore can not be audited by the public.

By Harold Kaija, private secretary to Col. Kizza Besigye.

Dr. Col. Kizza Besigye is not the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), he was a party president, a party that has structures and policies, and Besigye has not left the party, but only retired from participating in the presidency of the country.

So there is a belief that FDC may move on without Besigye’s active participation in the party’s management. Besigye announced this week that he will never again run for presidency but will use other means to overthrow president Museveni’s government.

The Vice President of FDC for Eastern Region, Salaam Musumba says that she believes FDC is no body’s party; it is a national political party. Musumba further says that FDC is a party and not an individual.

However, the FDC President Gen. Mugisha Muntu says Besigye is smaller than FDC…hundreds of people are in FDC not because of Besigye. He says that every body has a contribution that has made FDC what it is today but they recognise Besigye’s efforts and still want his input in the struggle to liberate Ugandans.

Col. Kizza Besigye’s body guard Harold Kaija urges the people to analyse issues well. “But who said Besigye is leaving FDC?” he asks. He says that Besigye is still a member of FDC. FDC will on 16th December 2013 mark its 8th anniversary as a registered political party in Uganda.

The leader of opposition in parliament, Nandala Mafabi, who also doubles as MP for Budadiri west (FDC), in his speech on Monday at a joint opposition rally in Budadiri said many Ugandans have lost hope in NRM government and they are frustrated against president Museveni’s regime.

“Millions of people in Uganda are living in a state of frustration, no drugs, infrastructure development is in a mess, poor education policies, and other people are being jailed for trumped up charges,” MP Nandala said.

The MP identified some of the FDC members facing trumped up charges as Ibrahim Kasozi and Harold Kaija among others.

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) is mourning and yarning over the death of its party spokesman for Oyam district.
Late Omara Patrick died over the weekend and he was buried in his home district, Oyam. His burial was attended by the FDC party president, Col. Kiiza Besigye, and other FDC senior officials Nabillah Sempala, Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu, Harold Kaija and Dr. Francis Epetite.
Our reporters who attended the meeting were surprised that the body of the deceased was buried at 11:00am and the speeches followed after the burial.
The squad of FDC officials found the body already laid to rest and speeches followed there after. So Col. Kiiza Besigye and group did not see the body!
The mourners who found the body already buried were told that during Joseph Kony’s military attacks on civilians, they would be made to leave the body unburied. After the burial Besigye and group left for Gulu for Hon Betty Aol Ocan’s Wedding. In Gulu Besigye and group were welcomed by Hon. Beatrice Anywar and Hon Akello. The speaker of parliament Hon. Rebecca Kadaga was the Guest of Honour.

Being in a camp of Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye, the president general of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) caused youth problems at the central police station in Kampala today at around 7:00 PM.

The youth headed by Besigye’s body guard Harold Kaija had gone to CPS to check on some girls who were arrested for being suspected to be plotting to stage a demonstration in Kampala.

While Kaija and group were climbing the steps of CPS police, the DPC James Ruhweza called, ” Harold Kaija, you don’t great me?” Kaija responded that ”How are you mr. Ruhweza”.

When Besigye’s group got at the reception of CPS, a certain police officer came and rudely told them that they were not needed at CPS.

Other Besigye’s cadres at CPS were Sam Mugumya and Ddembe Catherine. Sources told us that the reason Harold and group were chassed was because they were Besigye’s ‘boys’.

“I usually don’t want to comment about the wrong stories written about myself (Col. Kiiza Besigye). But the one in last week’s Kamunye went over board,” Col. Kiiza Besigye has said.
He says that he had wanted to ignore it. His friends and political advisers called him yesterday evening asking him to tell them the truth if he collapsed last week while in Kasese as it was indicated in Kamunye newspaper.
Besigye says that even his FDC party officials have been asking the same. He can not count his supporters and fans. Col. Besigye says that he moved with his aide Harold Kaija as usual in his car from Kampala to Kasese, and they stayed in the same hotel, slept in opposite room, they would part after Mid Night dinner, they were moving together in the field. So if there was anything that happened to him, Kaija would be the first one to KNOW.
Besigye says that he did not have anything like flue. This was a story that he does not know the intentions of the author. The story in Kamunye had alleged that Besigye collapsed while in Kasese.

Unidentified woman has dumped a baby girl at the headquarters of the main opposition party inUganda, the Forum for Democratic Change.

The baby girl is aged around two to three years and the party officials have told our informers and the police that none of them has ever seen the child or knows its mother.

The baby affords to talk. She told the FDC officials that she is called Viola. She doesn’t know the names of her mother or father. The baby girl is crying and only says she is called viola.

Some of the FDC activists have jokingly said that the baby could be president Museveni’s spy. The party leaders led by one Harold Kaija have reported this case at Katwe police station.
